can anyone identify the slide Bionech are referring to ?
https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/biontech-pfizer-starting-testing-universal-coronavirus-vaccine-h2-2022-06-29/
At its investor day on Wednesday, Germany’s BioNTech presented what it called its “Innovation Series 2022.” Although much of the presentation was dedicated to the company’s broad R&D programs, one of the most immediately newsworthy items was its plan with Pfizer to begin testing a next-generation universal vaccine against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
A reminder . May I have everyones observations because the dates seem to be falling into place ? Could be Biontech / Pfizer be partnering with Scancell on Covidity ?
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/dec/11/as-covid-mutates-the-vaccine-makers-are-adapting-too
Scancell
The spinout from the University of Nottingham, now based in Oxford, is testing two vaccine candidates that induce antibody and T-cell responses against the original and variant Sars-CoV-2 viruses in 40 healthy volunteers in South Africa. The first patient was dosed in October and Scancell will conduct a further trial in the UK, with the first data from the early-stage clinical trials expected by June
Thought they may have had an Interest in Covidity...ah well....maybe they have. IMO.
It would be great if it was the case. In light of the following :
“The virus' persistent mutation into new variants that more easily evade vaccine protection, as well as waning human immune memory, have added urgency to the search by companies, governments and health bodies for more reliable tools of protection.”
However there is nothing in the presentation to suggest that remote possibility exists that we are part of this effort.
Agree lofas, however, as all signs suggest we have not finished with COVID19 yet, we may well see articles on what else is being developed outside Pfizer/Biontech and it is here I would hope to see articles on what Scancell is trialing and the differentials in emphasis of different treatments. All good.......................
Cleaner,
Do you mean these slides?
https://investors.biontech.de/static-files/edee73bd-1620-4f51-a419-7ce7782ffa0f
Having said that…BTech recognises the shortfall of the their spikes approach and the need to target the common part of all virus mutations. The big Qs are:
1. Are they going to rely on in-house capabilities
2. Is Scancell generic vaccine works
3. Will Bio pay £1-2 for the tech providing point 2 has an outstanding outcome.
4. Nothing new so far
And that takes us back to data.......!!!
C7,
absolutely.
great science - great products - great data - great deals!
When … when
It’s a pinch and a punch for the first 2moro
It’s a kick for being so quick for H2
Meanwhile we stuck on 13…insane GLA
A quick look at those slides makes you realise Biontech are a top biotechnology company and what they have achieved over two decades....and the growth in share price!!
SCLP looks such a perfect fit for Biontech and we are known to then. Why they don't make an offer for SCLP I can't understand...funding certainly wouldn't be an issue. As SCLP progresses it's own pipeline we must surely become more expensive.
Iofas, "stuck on 13" ....with no news from SCLP on the near horizon I think we will be lucky if we stick at 13.
"....with no news from SCLP on the near horizon"
???
Come again?
Nobody knows exactly when news will land, that's the whole point isn't it, we wait for game changing news.
That's one of the reasons I asked about results, to get some idea of "potential" dates.
@violindog, not sure if it's just LTH fatigue, but your posting style is changing and becoming reminiscent of past bearish posters...all IMO.
WTP..indeed... total irritation and fatigue at the SP .
I don't see what is bearish pointing out we are a perfect fit for Biontech. I also don't think any news from SCLP is on the near horizon and therfore the SP may retreat. I also know that any positive news will transform SCLP. I really don't follow what you are insinuating about me.
Violin,
Sadly when things aren't going the way some would like they tend to lash out.
Not a great deal of fun being on the end of it but 'twas ever thus.
I wonder who you'll be accused of being ?
I think Aimbig's already been allocated! LOL
AIMO
It was the "....with no news from SCLP on the near horizon" comment, isn't lots of potential news/data due? And in the near horizon?
And the connected RE "holding 13p" comment.
Again all IMO.
LTH fatigue is a real phenomenon though I agree.
P.s. I agree, we are a perfect fit for Biontech.
With the existing relationship you'd think there was something deeper going on?
WTP
As you say,
"Nobody knows exactly when news will land, that's the whole point isn't it, we wait for game changing news."
So why not wait? What's the point of trying to work out a date? It will arrive when it does.
I think that's part of the problem with BBs.
People decide that date A is when the first trial results are due but when they're not announced the expectation bubble is burst and then the whole game starts all over again.
Why worry? If the results are as everyone expects the SP should benefit.
At least people like Violin won't be accused of being someone else.
That's just daft.
AIMO
Who accused violindog of being someone else? I said reminiscent.
Please stop stirring AB.
WTP,
"Who accused violindog of being someone else? I said reminiscent."
Well since reminiscent means,
"suggesting something by resemblance."
Whose posting style did Violindog remind you of?
I think I've made my point on this.
AIMO
Good Progress announced today By AZ (Ian king live this morning). Treatment shows good results. Hope we can get some update as well. And BTW the longer we wait (within reasons) with no vibes of bad news the better position we will find ourselves in.
