🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🎼🎼
…. From article - The date for the next stage of the selection process has changed from 24 June to 8 July, and it means the bids will be handed in after the election, on 4 July, of the next UK government.
The UK aims to grow nuclear energy capacity to 24 GW by 2050, with a mix of traditional large-scale power plants and small modular reactors (SMRs). Last year, the new Great British Nuclear (GBN) arms-length body, set up to help deliver that extra capacity, began the selection process for which SMR technology to use. In October, EDF, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Holtec, NuScale Power, Rolls Royce SMR and Westinghouse were invited to bid for UK government contracts in the next stage of the process.

To all who are bothered about the election DO NOT VOTE LABOUR, I am based in Wales where they are in power, public services are much worse than in England especially the NHS which is devolved, they are absolutely work shy liers!! just look at our new corrupt leader Vaughan Gething- Starmers new best friend!!, Starmer is a dangerous hypocritical lier, you can only squeeze HNWI's so much-they will go elsewhere-, so where will he get the money from ??the nonsense he comes out with-'he supported Corbyns' view while he was in the shadow cabinet but didn't really as he thought he wouldn't win'!! just proves he will say absolutely anything to gain power, at least c
Corbyn stuck to his guns!, Starmer would never use private medical services for a loved one requiring urgent treatment-YEA RIGHT!! and now its plainly obvious with his friday night dinner' jibe that he could never ever support the palestinians A DISGRACE!!!

Hey Transmission
You know when you spend more money than you make? That means you've got no money.
You know when you have a big overdraft, 2 loans and just one credit card left that still lets you spend with a big fat APR?
YOU STILL AINT GOT MONEY!!
Fkn socialists
To all who are bothered about the election DO NOT VOTE LABOUR,
......
Thanks for the political advice. I have some bad news to break, looking at the Opinion Polls I don't anyone is listening to you. I can't imagine why...
We are getting a Labour government whether you like it or not.
But if you seriously think that a Labour government is going to be a disaster then I'll give you one bit of advice and I strongly recommend that you take it: that is sell all your stocks and shares and do it first thing tomorrow morning when the markets open. Buy gold, keep it cash or do something else with it instead. You can thank me later for saving you a lot of money.
I'll take a small wager though that you won't be selling...sure you'll grandstand and make out that you are some kind of political or economics expert but we both know you won't be selling, right?
Hahaha spoken like a true Socialist!!!
..........
Thank you for the detailed explanation of why I'm wrong...
Now have a second go, and this time use as much detail as you like to explain why the UK is apparently not in control of its own money supply. This is why the BoE sets British interest rates, if our money supply was controlled by an outside agent like say the ECB then it wouldn't be possible.
On the way you can also explain why the UK uses QE, again without outside interference, if we are unable to control our money supply.

I wish Labour had just used this in their campaign.. And the thing is it’s funny and not one lie in there frankly it should make your blood boil
'Just for the record the UK is a sovereign nation in sole control of it's currency it's impossible for the UK to run out of money.'
Hahaha spoken like a true Socialist!!!

Last I heard, one had to be in power to "...implement anything..."
My first and last tuppence...
I'm with Einstein: keep doing the same thing (voting Tory/Labour/Tory/Labour/.... ad finitum) and expecting a fifferent result is the definition of insanity.
I shall be voting Reform accordingly. I'll reserve my judgement in four years.
A long deceased uncle of mine once said the only good politician is a d**d one; not a shared sentiment but an understood one.
That member of the public who asked if Sunak and Starmer were the best we've got, nailed it.
For sure, we're going to get who we deserve after tomorrow.
GLA
Only difference I know to what the present gov has implemented...
Is the amount of tax letters I get now, it's like a steady flow now, because this is where they get the cash from that they need to waste and give away.
A new broom is better than one without a handle
I have come to the same conclusion, we just can't go on like we are. The country is slowly being strangled.
At this point a party with no track record is better than parties that have resolutely shown they are incapable and moreover unwilling to even begin to honour their manifesto pledges. Give be a promise of hope over a lie any day.

Governments and industry need to focus on what can be done now to cut aircraft emissions and not underestimate the technological challenges of developing new fuels, a senior figure at engine manufacturer Rolls Royce has warned.
Professor Herve Morvan, Rolls Royce chief of future platforms, told the Westminster Energy, Environment & Policy Conference on ‘Next steps for aviation decarbonisation’: “We need to recognise the importance of acting soon.
“Every element of carbon we put in the atmosphere just keeps accumulating. While it’s attractive to look for a perfect solution, if it comes late, it will have a limited impact by 2050. We need to consider what we can do now.”

What else is Le Pen going to do with them?
Better for who ? all the immigrants waiting in France for a Labour win !!
Roll on Friday, although I'll say Monday as Friday is also typically a down day as investors want to exit over the weekend!
Elections bring uncertainty which negatively affects the market.
We have had some positive broker upgrades over the past couple of weeks. I expect these to be reflected next week with a bit of positivity what ever the results from the election.
But the drop since the recent highs has been a tough blow for everyone, no one wants to see a share price falling.
Anyway it's raining which is good for my lawn as I fertilised it prior to the rain 😂
If I had any spare liquidity I would most certainly buy now!
Chin up everyone 👍👍

It does seem a wee bit odd how we have had fantastic ratings in the middle of when we dropped, its like the ratings done nothing to increase the sp though, or the 'no reason' was more powerful. very strange.
Let’s see if these ratings have any impact on the recent slide we have had🙄

If the new Government want to hit the ground running and instil a feelgood factor, announcing the immediate roll out of SMRs and awarding R.R the contract would be a good starting point,
........
The deadline for applications is for the next stage of funding is next Monday...
"...the planned timeline was for the SMR selection shortlist to be cut to around four after the submission of responses to the tender, with the goal of placing contracts by the end of the year - this would be for co-funding the technology all the way through to completion of the design, regulatory, environmental and site-specific permissions process, and the potential to place a contract for the supply of equipment."
https://www.world-nuclear-news.org/Articles/UK-SMR-contest-deadline-pushed-back-beyond-electio
Relax, it's in Labour's manifesto, there'll be no immediate roll-out though so don't getting yourself worked up thinking that you are going to hear something by this time next week. Things don't work like that, especially with this kind of technology. As for Rolls Royce SMR - they are in the frame, but as the link points out there will be two/three suppliers. No government in their right mind is going to only appoint one SMR builder.
Mr Farage was advocating SMR at a huge rally in Birmingham to very loads cheers.
Gotta elbow EDF out of the way 1st with our reestablishment of EU cordial relations .....
They will be to busy handing and receiving all the full to the brim brown envelopes out to worry about giving any Brit a feel good factor news.
If the new Government want to hit the ground running and instill a feelgood factor, announcing the immediate roll out of SMRs and awarding R.R the contract would be a good starting point, a great British company employing British Tradesmen and Technitions ,he could blow his own trumpet for a week with this one, i hope Starmer thinks the same.

Oh calm down, everyone. I'm waiting for Svend's "Cup and Handle" to re-emerge (just waiting for the bottom of the cup to clarify itself, thats all).
I'd still buy more :)
Political uncertainty in France, UK and the USA may be an influencing factor on the markets as it always is but especially with all three up in the air.
We saw a similor drop in April too and then it shot back up.
We will probably see something similor once the footsie settles down :)
Relax and enjoy the British weather or not🙈🙈🙈
Think people.may be selling to rebuy once we have stopped the fall .as we are dropping daily .
Think this was mentioned the other day - the high demand on (Airbus) single-aisle means long lead-times which could then knock on to increased demand for the wide-bodies from customers who appreciate time is money.
RR have exclusive rights for engines on the very successful A350, Airbus are intending to ramp up production due to delays
The old A330 is coming back into favour with some carriers the engine options included RR P&W and GE.
RR certainly need to get back into the narrow body market but it's probably going to take some time.
RR don’t do SA yet…
But the market is there and the competitors seem to have messed it up!
RR would do well!
RR dont do engines for single aisle do they? They do wide body aircraft, although I do believe they are in talks about entering that market........
Just heard on Blomberg that Airbus have just won a large order for single aisle jets - good news for us also?

I still lol at the £7 price
CMC was the new RR £1 in Jan £335 now :-)
I feel that this drop isn’t that bad in terms of just hit a big high of 488 so maybe a drop off was expected? Got to trust these half year results will be good!
No need to apologise.
You will never known if you never ask
Good luck
Hi Berny, sorry, I wasn't trying to be nosey and personal, I just wanted an opinion from a fellow balls of steel x3 Bro lol.
yeah, that makes total sense and being clever, and I agree, it's so hard to work stuff out as the drops are severe on x3, so it does mess things up and one has to work stuff out all over again (every day at this rate)
I also get when you say you will be glad you're out as it is a bit stressy isn't it, as I'm feeling that now as well, I want to wait till 7 but I just don't know, i.e. look how it's dropped 41p now, it just makes one think.
Thanks for your honest post btw.
Badland.
I need £2,200,000.
Most is in an ISA.
£1,500,000 to invest for 5 yrs
£200,000 to live off for 5 yrs
£500,000 to be left in.
With these drops, my figure keeps shifting.
When it gets to about £5.63 ish, thisbis when I will be pressing the big bad button... and I will be glad of it !
I done need to wait for £7 or any more but I will leave a good chunk in. I could afford to lose it but I 'Could' afford to lose it if it goes wrong.
Does this answer your question?

Don't want to look anymore .it will.keep.going down until after election winner announced .
It's been a red day for a while now with RR, 41p drop now and every day a bit more, so when will it stop!!!

Usually the customers choose the engines, not Airbus
Hey all - I hope we're all enjoying the weather!
Just to put a little bit of common sense into this situation.
So Airbus at Spirit AeroSystems. What's new? We all know Airbus prefer RR so it's only Bombardier that will lose out (a little) on the whole. The fact Spirit are selling parts that do not support Airbus means zero to us.
Move on.
So the French are out!.

Of course it won't. It will be absorbed into the general valuation very quickly, which is what the boss intends. Might take a bit of time (couple or three weeks?) until the sentiment spookery dissolves over the 1% dilution. Time is on our side and THE RR FUNDAMENTALS HAVE NOT CHANGED.
Do you think the price will continue its upwards trend since now the employee benefit trust shares issued.
Money for the employee trust is only made or gained on share performance.
