How unbiased or credible do you think this article on the Guido Fawkes site is?
Wet blanket Labour MP Stephen Kinnock said the AUKUS deal was 'betraying the French' lol. Labour party membership agreed by a majority of 70/30 that the AUKUS deal ' undermines world peace'.
Just because you have globalist soft left Starmer in charge covering himself in union jacks, doesn't negate the fact that a majority of labour members and MPs consider the history of the UK to be a source of great shame.
"Betray the French"... like they do the pensioners that come to visit the beaches they stormed on D-day, to find that all the hotels have jacked up the prices. Or perhaps like how they take UK taxpayers money to pretend to stop migrants making dangerous sailings from their shores.
Hotels putting up prices is just economics, supply and demand.
We threw our weight about during the brexit divorce and then said ‘Dear France, please stop these boats coming over old chap’
Brexit should replace the word naivety in the dictionary.
Maybe that's why he has stepped down as an MP, before he was pushed, because he no longer fits into starters plans
"Brexit should replace the word naivety in the dictionary."
To be fair, I think a lot of people without the ability to see past their nose, were sold a promise of magic beans.
These magic beans have done the UK no favours, you never got your independence back, as you never had it in the first place. It's a fallacy. NHS is not in a better place, probably worse.
Free movement of people is now over, didn't affect those that never left their corner pub anyway. Energy costs are one of the highest in Europe based on GBP and pay, COL up, generally everything is up, except morale.
Being lied to and accepting it seems the way of life in the UK.
Good luck to anyone that lives in the UK, having to choose between an escapee from a Wallace & Gromit animation (a rat) and a soggy pasty rain-drenched day old sandwich of a human, oh boy. Good times.
BTW, both have already sold you out to the yanks.
Just to remind- we’ve left. Never to return.
@fordm
Why on earth do you think the politics of the UK are any of your business when you clearly dislike the place and don't live here?
Richie, because for the next year I still hold a UK passport, so whatever the idiots at No. 10 do, still affect me, much like yourself, a slave to the corrupt.
But I had a choice and made it, it may be too late for you, so enjoy the pain. Also, someone mentioned CGT, I pay ZERO in that regard. ZERO.
Remoaners – ( anti-social socialists) who hate the people they live around. Blarite (50% school leaver uni students who studied course such as media studies) who would go abroad for a holiday and think they’d found some wondrous utopian play ground where the people were evermore sophisticated than ‘them’ back home because these natives could speak a foreign language (and English) and drank wine. They fawn over them since they didn’t understand that people -the world over are all the same, but with different cultures. They bought the EU lie that free movement of goods, money and workers was not a capitalist globalist system to drive down workers pay and living conditions, but instead some hallmark of being ‘edukated’ , ‘ in-telly-gent’ and ‘sofisticated’, which they could add to their CV’s along with their toilet roll degree qualifications, as their salaries were eroded, house prices were inflated and industries ruined.
Investorintheknow one day youll understand how the world works, the tories have ruined this country and only a socialist policy will boost the uk economy. the tories have ruined this country it is time to allow immigration to boost the gdp and provide supply and value to the jobs market.
Also the reason as to why the french checked our passports on the d day celebration is because it was the LAW. they arent going to make exceptions because we ousted ourselves as foreigners through brexit
Fordm,
Brexit decisions were in the end based on some very personal circumstances/experiences/situations.
Some were motivated to vote one way because of concerns about their cheap lattes, access to retire anywhere in the EU, affects on their EU business / EU funded interests, or ideologically they wanted to be European . Others, it was about labour arbitrage and displaced jobs / work, more political / ideological / social associated factors with sovereignty and the right to unilaterally have policies that determine outcomes, not least immigration. Thatcher voting patterns were all about attracting Mondeo man, the Brexit decision was heavily Transit man, lesson, don't kick a large voting block in the economic nuts, what was promised to be tens of thousands of competing economic units (a lie from the start), was millions. You can't get away with orders of magnitude mistakes/lies without serious consequences.
That the UK is not flourishing is not all (or even large part) down to Brexit - pandemic, war, inflation, dreadful planning and a whole list of other of factors in the mix. It transpires politicians never really had any intention of making the UK flourish. Post Brexit the labour arbitrage cannon was fired again, this time largely targeting middle income earners - tech related displacement is off the scale, a large kick in the nuts is again in the process of being delivered, this time to the Conservative party.
Behind all this is the pathetic prop to GDP figures by using bodycount to spruce the numbers, it doesn't work, GDP per capita has been and continues to fall.
...'only a socialist policy will boost the uk economy'
@wafflestomper hahaha lol that's actually pretty funny. At least you're being honest about the Labour party's love of mass immigration, unlike Starmer.
That is not far off, the majority of the country is skint while the mega-rich are 50%+ richer. We need a different direction.
You perceive allowing migrant workers in to bolster the workforce as inviting boat people to doss on benefits. well done
@waffle
Limitless immigration serves to create an illusion of growth but it erodes productivity and that impoverishes everyone. Labour will spend beyond their means (PPP), necessarily have to raise taxes reducing the rewards of working hard and create a generation without ambition. Out of interest how old are you, have you lived under a labour government before?
The majority of migrants want to intergrate into society. this was seen with the irish in america during the 19th century and yugoslavians into denmark during the 1960s. 3/4 of the gdp growth in the uk during 2023 was due to immigrant workers so i dont understand how that is sitting on the dole.
Im 43 and hold an economics degree from sheffield university.
@NotZero 'GDP per capita has been and continues to fall'
Absolutely 100% correct... That is the only measurement of our individual circumstances.
I couldn't help but notice, during the debate last night, Nigel Farage was the only one to make reference to this.
I also couldn't help but shout at the television when Angela Rayner said they would build 1.5 million new homes straight away.. How?.. even if we some how had the capacity to do this the numbers wouldn't add up.. lets just say that the average price of a new 'Green home' is 200K (it's far more than that)... where is the 300 billion going to come from?
I also have a problem with her as she can't even pronounce "Britain" correctly.. she says "Bri-urn".. wtf.. speaks like a chav.
'Im 43 and hold an economics degree from sheffield university.' - as I guessed - one of Blares 50% of school leavers going off to uni thinking they are educated. Teach your granny how to suck eggs
All the French are good at is running away
It's amazing that the predicted doom scenarios of the dreaded labour government are basically what we are already living through, just not as bad.
