…. From article - The date for the next stage of the selection process has changed from 24 June to 8 July, and it means the bids will be handed in after the election, on 4 July, of the next UK government.
The UK aims to grow nuclear energy capacity to 24 GW by 2050, with a mix of traditional large-scale power plants and small modular reactors (SMRs). Last year, the new Great British Nuclear (GBN) arms-length body, set up to help deliver that extra capacity, began the selection process for which SMR technology to use. In October, EDF, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Holtec, NuScale Power, Rolls Royce SMR and Westinghouse were invited to bid for UK government contracts in the next stage of the process.
To all who are bothered about the election DO NOT VOTE LABOUR, I am based in Wales where they are in power, public services are much worse than in England especially the NHS which is devolved, they are absolutely work shy liers!! just look at our new corrupt leader Vaughan Gething- Starmers new best friend!!, Starmer is a dangerous hypocritical lier, you can only squeeze HNWI's so much-they will go elsewhere-, so where will he get the money from ??the nonsense he comes out with-'he supported Corbyns' view while he was in the shadow cabinet but didn't really as he thought he wouldn't win'!! just proves he will say absolutely anything to gain power, at least c
Corbyn stuck to his guns!, Starmer would never use private medical services for a loved one requiring urgent treatment-YEA RIGHT!! and now its plainly obvious with his friday night dinner' jibe that he could never ever support the palestinians A DISGRACE!!!
Hey Transmission
You know when you spend more money than you make? That means you've got no money.
You know when you have a big overdraft, 2 loans and just one credit card left that still lets you spend with a big fat APR?
YOU STILL AINT GOT MONEY!!
Fkn socialists
To all who are bothered about the election DO NOT VOTE LABOUR,
......
Thanks for the political advice. I have some bad news to break, looking at the Opinion Polls I don't anyone is listening to you. I can't imagine why...
We are getting a Labour government whether you like it or not.
But if you seriously think that a Labour government is going to be a disaster then I'll give you one bit of advice and I strongly recommend that you take it: that is sell all your stocks and shares and do it first thing tomorrow morning when the markets open. Buy gold, keep it cash or do something else with it instead. You can thank me later for saving you a lot of money.
I'll take a small wager though that you won't be selling...sure you'll grandstand and make out that you are some kind of political or economics expert but we both know you won't be selling, right?
Hahaha spoken like a true Socialist!!!
..........
Thank you for the detailed explanation of why I'm wrong...
Now have a second go, and this time use as much detail as you like to explain why the UK is apparently not in control of its own money supply. This is why the BoE sets British interest rates, if our money supply was controlled by an outside agent like say the ECB then it wouldn't be possible.
On the way you can also explain why the UK uses QE, again without outside interference, if we are unable to control our money supply.

I wish Labour had just used this in their campaign.. And the thing is it’s funny and not one lie in there frankly it should make your blood boil
'Just for the record the UK is a sovereign nation in sole control of it's currency it's impossible for the UK to run out of money.'
Hahaha spoken like a true Socialist!!!
In 2015 David Cameron held up the note left for the Conservatives by the chief secretary to the treasury in 2010 which said to the incoming Conservative government " Dear Chief Secretary, I'm afraid there is no money, Kind regards and good luck! Liam"
Wasn't a joke, more a statement of fact. Brown ran the country like a casino, getting not just the government but the population and banks hooked on debt and policy wise did nothing but fan the flames. We were all raided for years to save the banks.

Shame they didn’t IPO as expected otherwise their products would be an interesting punt.
Rolls-Royce expected to provide cashflow upgrade, with dividends on horizon

👍articles mentions
"The €550m bond repayment made in Q1-24 was the last element in place preventing Rolls-Royce from paying a dividend.
Well, Lets see,
July 8th also SMR selection for the UK hits another milestone. The news on EDF should make this more obvious RR
Obviously they won’t beat labour this time… but fingers crossed they are the opposition!!!
When the tories came it labour kindly left a message "all the money has run out".
............
I got this far and gave up...that was a joke. Just for the record the UK is a sovereign nation in sole control of it's currency it's impossible for the UK to run out of money.
If you don't understand this - and clearly you don't, then there's zero point in reading anything else you wrote.
Even if it dips hold on and you will be rewarded
As long as one party gets clear majority, markets will be up. A hung parliament will crash the stocks.
Fingers crossed it won’t dip tomorrow because of the election.i was about to sell it but i think im going to stick with and take the risk . Purchased at £4.36 .

Shhhhh!. whisper only.
are we going back up... shhhhh
Nondeplume,
Voted Tory all my life apart from last time, you are right about that time, they didn't pass the smell test, they will never even be considered an option by me in the future. Correct about the NotZero tag, it is an unattainable goal in my lifetime, economically and very likely practically as well, it is economic hari kiri.
In regards Truss, media and a well timed nudge from the BOE did the job, they wanted their placeman in. Sunak blind trust / hedge fund is where to look.

Not Zero, please be honest, you couldn't have voted Tory. First, from your name, is it a reflection you anti Net Zero... then supporting Boris and Starmer defies logic as they are both strong advocates of net zero. You also talk about Sunak stabbing Boris in the back. What do you call Starmer and his response towards having supported Corbyn? Truss also threw her supposedly very good friend her Chancellor under the bus and her policies were nonsensical, with the global financial markets reacting against them.
Sunak's doggy dealings, I know nothing about them, but then I look at Starmer's main advisory Blair who advised eastern block dictators, legitimate dealings 🤭.
Boris and Truss are the antithesis of Starmer, or is the latter an "imposter" like his mentor Blair and a closet capitalist. 😁
WTF!... I said Sni gger as in laugh.
''then you have no right to form an opinion then badlands,if you don't put your cross next to someone it's called a democracy''.
i pay enough in uk tax, so yes i do have an opinion, granted, it's only in my mind or on forums like this.
not my fault that every single politian and his mate is corrupt and after every single term end, i s****** and praise myself for not voting for the last corrupt greedy halfwit who has made life harder.
just wait till whoever gets in finishes his term and know that you can't say that above, and i will say it again.
