“ As always the market will determine the value of NG on a daily basis with various influences”
And I reserve the right to not always agree with how it values NG.
But the market doesn’t care
Moy
''taking some profit.''
As always the market will determine the value of NG on a daily basis with various influences. Cable has been on a roller coaster today, From the early hours down to below 1.27 and now up to near 3 month highs at a little under 1.28. NG is a dollar earner
It does start to look ( mainly from on here), as if most of the selling to fund rights issue have passed.
Suspect today might have been mainly due to those who timed the bottom taking some profit.
I do feel a bit more positive about NG now, not excepting the hair cut we took from the highs.
Will be nice to get it all over the line and understand how it works out
I have 649 and have decided to take them up
Just spoke to my broker about taking up my 1073 rights. She said she'd spent most of last week dealing with people taking them up which is hopeful, if anecdotal. Fortunately enough cash in my ISA to fund it, thanks to some chunky univested divis last month from, eg, MNG, Lloyd's, AAL.
Back over £10 by September?
That looks like the correct decision
I was undecided until Thursday morning between the tail swallow option or buy the extra 198 shares …in the end I opted to purchase them instead
But if it breaks that, we are potentially up to 918.
Gap closed at sell buy mid-point.
Bounce peak position now identifying resistance area.
I sold the ISA position at 904p this morning but held all the trading account NG. A chart gap from 881.6p was likely to get back filled. Will rebuild the ISA position post divi. I suspect others who use technical charts also sold this morning. NG had no RNS to generate such a breakaway chart gap. The bounce was nice to have and gives a good idea where a good entry point on NG sits.
I’m hoping we hit £9 before Thursday, and that the bottom has already passed, but it’s still very possible there is another wave of selling to fund take up of rights issue by those who have still to make their mind up.
I’m going with most have already committed one way or other, but no one really knows ( especially me)
Ex dividend date on Thursday so probably a pullback of about 40 pence.
Currently you are buying £8.80 shares for £6.45.
There are no guarantees, but it’s very possible the bottom has already passed.
You are running out of time ,so you must decide if it’s right for you.
Also need obviously to have the spare cash
Novice and not really clued up here but is it worth buying my 400 shares at £6.45 or buy 200 sell 200
Is the price fixed at 6.45 …
The profit loss dropped last Cple days
Primary legislation in the UK (that is, Acts of Parliament) can only be challenged on limited EU and human rights law grounds. If a Labour government were to raise an extra new tax on all existing British energy companies, those companies would not be able to challenge the tax under competition law.
......Starmer and his threat to raise an extra new tax on all existing British energy cos to finance his British Energy company.
If he is successful and dares to try, he will face the entire existing industry taking whatever legislation he creates to the courts all the way up on grounds of breach of Competition Law. Yes he can set up the new British Energy but he CANNOT require any existing energy companies to part with any additional tax to fund it,
This is because they cannot be forced to support a competitor - AND as a lawyer, he should be aware of it.
This is what Fitch said in April
"Rating Pressure Balanced : Rating upside could materialise if financial performance is better than currently expected in our rating case, for example, due to upcoming regulatory price controls. Conversely, higher capital investment above NG's guidance of GBP42 billion for FY22-FY26, together with any delays in disposal proceeds, could constrain upward rating movement. A change in the business mix could also lead us to review the group's current debt capacity."

It'll be interesting to see their take on the Rights Issue and the increase in planned Capex to £60 Billion. Obviously NG had to do the Rights Issue and the disposals, although pre planned, are also relevant to NG's overall debt position.
"again - are you for real?"
"yes you are clueless"
"yes clueless"
😅
"They have been getting out of gas for quite a while now"
🤣
That's rich coming from an old gasbag like you
😂

you really are disrupting this NG board with your non NG attention seeking posts/
''If as you say AHO was planning to have a big buyback program, why would he have been able to do it without sacrificing dividend payouts?''
again - are you for real?
The 2018 programme was initiated with a £1.75 Billion spend.
Nunn restarted at a little more - £2 Billion, which has since remained flat.
Was you aware of a global pandemic in 2020, when there had to be a reset.
Nunn set in place a progressive dividend policy, and with £2 Billion repurchase programmes being conducted since at much lower price levels than pre pandemic, this will be of great benefit to long term shareholders, which will include eventual dividend returns at a higher level than would otherwise have been the case.
''Although it's true I haven't researched NG's long term plans''
yes you are clueless
''it doesn't change the fact they're having to dispose of assets and dilute shareholders to pay for the Grid upgrades''
How many more times? - They DO NOT have to sell businesses. They have been getting out of gas for quite a while now. They what a streamlined transmissions network business.
Don't make me have to say this to you yet again, otherwise it would suggest you have dementia problems.
'' that's just me speculating.''
yes clueless - a number of new transmission networks will be put in place.
''Truthfully I have no idea how well NG will do in executing its plans''
It is of no concern to you as a non shareholder
Up to!
I called this right at the end of last week and expect the rise to continue up the close on wednesday.
