On another note, I have a habit of focussing on the track inspection service. But of course, the lidar product itself is a big deal in its own right
I wish :D
They mentioned it on their LinkedIn page at the start of the month.
I think stuff like this would be best shared with shareholders first but eh...
You have esp.
A LIDAR announcement apparently. Could be a new product, or just a vanity announcement? Curious to know what it is either way.

Don't qualify on my JD :)
You should apply and provide some robust questioning.
Wow, that was not impressive. My advise for Nick and key investors, change the Chair. Nick needs a strong, competent and experienced tech chair, able to mentor a raw first time CEO.
Lots of great questions Nick -- LOL

Another deal and a contract so positive direction. The performance of the asset managers who bought 3% earlier this month seems good over the last few years so nice to see that angle added. Roll on.
I don’t imagine share movements to be an inside job, more like ‘dumb’ money coming from funds looking for diversification etc. It’s all about the tech and ROI for clients. Too little info for a public company especially in tech. Always a red flag for me. However, I get the need to massage the highest valuation when in the funding phase.
Hi Pherm,
Yes I'm curious as well to the monetary value of the contract. Looking at this in balance there was a definite surge of inside buying just before the contract announcement (or agreement), but a couple of days later a definite drop, so I'm hoping this isn't reflective of insiders knowing the value itself is minimal.
Hopefully now that MNO tech has been approved for use by national rail, orders will start coming in and this will be reflected in accounts.
I await the full accounts with interest, any disclosure of ARR at year end? Will they share revenues by sector ie Rail, other and discontinued business etc. No contract announcement either 12m or pilot ever give details. Compare other tech companies of similar size that are public, those performing disclose numbers to prove it. Leopards and spots.

Amazing news.
And HS1 too.
Large buy yesterday.
Wonder how this will turn out by the end of the month. Could be another contract on the cards.
Good to hear more positive news. Ducks aligning :)

The only small SAAS investments I have are off market in privately held companies with ARR of between £0.3 & £1m. I have found it very difficult to make an investment return (I am sure you can get lucky and make significant short gain profits) from small listed tech companies. On balance they are valued at significantly higher prices. The very best SAAS entities (ie high growth with a great product/mkt fit) go for PE investment at up to 10x ARR valuation. Most PE investments into growth SAAS entities are in the 5 to 7x ARR range. Compare that with MNO which must be valued at 20+ times ARR with no visibility etc.
Nice little contract win, all adds up and hopefully increases awareness and word of mouth in the industry
Hi phermic,
On balance it's good to hear your views. I do agree the transparency has been a bit lacklustre.
Like G10 I'm continuing to hold as I now expect additional contract wins to start gathering pace. If not by year's end and without, perhaps I'll move on.
Out of interest, which similar SaaS to companies are you currently holding where you have more faith?
G10. I have no problem with you holding. Just pointing out the continuing lack of visibility by this board which is purposeful. I will move on when they report appropriately. It would be nice to know a little more about the 'contract wins'. I assume we are not counting pilots and continuing extensions. How about the breakdown between traditional Drone Surveying contracts and the more sexy track mapping work. Details on headcount, product roadmap and most important of all the current value of MRR/ARR. Like other SAAS companies!
You’ve had a downer in MNO for a couple of years now. Sometimes it’s easier to move on. There could be greater clarity and costs are up. But there is also specific contract wins and extensions identified so I’ll continue to hold
Yes,
I'm doing the same, holding and waiting. I expect more drip feeding of contracts to come through as more contracts are announced.
The market seems to being in a world of its own when it comes to recent RNS across my holdings. All news being positive the market still drops every time. Hold tight I guess and hope the trend bucks
Very encouraging results this morning.
Hopefully a move north today

The company is already valued at 'mad' multiples of 'non recurring' revenues. 'Mad' because the growth rate in those 'non recurring' revenues are non existent on a true like for like basis as per the last Q1 numbers. So unsure why a pilot converting should drive a significant upwards revaluation unless it was for a very substantial TCV.
Look for evidence that the company has invested and continues to invest in world leading AI dev. It hasn't and I do not see any going forward. Getting on Frameworks and obtaining pilots are easy. Has it really developed world leading IP from so little investment?
This company and the 'Exec Chair & Non Execs' have very poor form. They are exactly the same team that promised world leading Fintech IP at their AIM launch. It was all smoke and mirrors until the story was unable to be kept going, the Chair then uses the remaining company resources to rescue a private investment he had made and gain control.
Again, very poor AIM communication and visibility. It looks like the same playbook.
Phermic - you have some valid points and asking what has happened to previous pilots and why haven't they converted to recurring revenue. It may be due to speed of rail company procurement processes and an update would be good information.
However, the company is not large, it is winning new pilots, is on vendor lists in America and so only really needs to convert a deal to make a significant change in valuation. I am prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt.
So on balance and after considering pros and cons, I still think the risk is worth taking as the upside probably far outweighs the downside in my opinion. Only time will tell and my position size isn't that large but with a fair wind who knows.

It's not yet a first win it's a pilot. Just like the ones 'won' in Japan & Aus!!! Look back at the RNS posts. How about more informative updates, like potential contract values and MRR numbers. They do not give any recurring revenue numbers as they are either zero or very insignificant. That would be a disaster to the share price for any sane person running the MV/ARR numbers. Any idea on the Dev resources building out this product? Nope, not disclosed. This company should have a 'Red Flag' warning.
This is great news.
I do have one slight criticism, which is that they could do with more regular RNS updates. There have been other updates I have only learned about from following on LinkedIn. Things I think the shareholders could do with knowing about.
Great to see the first us win in any case
Yes they seemed to have done quite a bit - getting onto vendor lists etc. Let’s hope it can move more quickly to cash generation from pilot studies.
First paid foothold in US - pilot project on the Union Pacific Railroad.
Things appear to be progressing and developing nicely.
Still got my long term hold view and don't see why >£1 can't come in the not too distant future.

Interesting release today that supports my thesis that this is principally a Drone mfg with a surveying arm. Nothing wrong with that, but gross margins will struggle to hit 50% and hardware is a very tough business without scale.
Sure, they would like to generate subscription revenues. However, the investment required in the platform and functionality would require significant resources that this company has never employed and still doesn't. I would have expected the 'Executive Chair' to have notched this lesson with the spectacular failure of the banking platform solution.
This company is worth 10% of the current price but very tightly held so I don't expect any significant fall in the short term.
I have emailed them for some clarification and will share what they reply with
Usual very poor transparency from this company. No ARR information, appears projects still in evaluation stage, no information on product development and significant losses as I expected. I guess that's why this Chairman loves AIM.

Given all the hype driving MV to £25 - £30M. One should expect circa £2.5 to £3m ARR giving a 10x ARR value. A 10x value is about right for high growth SaaS tech companies like this one.
Anyone else with any view?

Hi
I think to say it's undervalued is a stretch, but the SP IMO has a long way to go.
There should be contract announcements soon, with the new US guy and all his contacts from previous roles. Hopefully, anyway.
And Biden's stimulus plan focussing on railway infrastructure, all things bode well in my opinion.
Hey! Would you guys say Maestrano is undervalued ?? and if so, why? x

IMO if this closes on the high then the push to 20s is inevitable.
I think this year will be the year when significant recurring revenue contracts are signed at which point a true valuation can be assigned (x10 recurring revenue)

another dummy sell trade on HL. 50k shares and quoted 15.35p (against bid of 15p).
signal for another leg up me thinks
Phermic,
I have neither the time nor the inclination to debate. I carried out my own research at the start and have a sizeable amount invested here from my research and I believe in the company and their IP.
You feel otherwise, I get that. I myself have had the urge to post on stocks that I strongly disagree with, but I have held off, especially when I have not invested, which I presume you have not.
Let's leave it at that. Good luck to all
The point.... bringing attention to boards that have history of deliberately providing shareholders with information that misleads investors on the true potential of their product/service/asset in order to pay directors remuneration.
The MCap is over 10x revenues. Revenues generated from services and hardware sales. The company is also loss making and cash negative. The product (that fits to drones) offering increased LIDAR performance is up against much larger players. Do you really think that a company with such a tiny headcount can keep up with major hardware players. Look for their technical specialists and research the backgrounds. Its just a drone surveying company (maybe a good one). Its not a great tech startup. 10x revenues???
When the fundraising starts, will the insiders who own 50%+ of the equity cough up any material amount. So.....what dilution will existing holders have to take.
Please engage with the debate.
And the majority of your lifetime posts are spent deramping MNO, what's your point?
Robrin
I have researched it. Why is it unique? What IP makes it so valuable and why are they not showing any recurring revenue? See you are also interested in CloudCoCo.
They have a very unique product and it is likely they will be bought out at some stage. If you researched this properly you would know this.
If you are a professional and experienced IT investor and you genuinely feel this stock is not for you, I don't understand why you are posting here? Unless you are looking to compare **** sizes and assert dominance somehow. This is a forum for professional investors, please move on elsewhere and release your emotional tension in another manner.

Then why the interest ?
Phermic, so ESRI, the Aussies, Network Rail and the Japanese were all mislead and did not do their DD before partnering or awarding contracts to MNO?
If you own shares then best sell and move on as surely you are in profit otherwise what is the point of posting on this forum. Personally I am happy being up 252% with average purchase price of 4.21. still a hold IMO until I see +20p
What are these signs??? Board have a record of misleading investors and Nomads. No recurring revenue streams and very small headcount. This is a drone survey company, hyping up newly developed IP that will take on the world???? This is a perfect 'hype & dump' share. I suspect you guys know this. Good luck.
Other investor types, do your homework. LOL
All the signs suggesting this is ready to fly.
Whoop!
I put in a dummy sell order on HL when the price was 14-15 and got quoted 14.80 for 20k shares. This is going to fly and as usual it is under the radar

I suspect a RNS will drop early next week as I've seen a steady accumulation. Not been wrong on this except when I suspected it would fall back to 11/12p after last RNS

From my understanding, autonomous cars need to be able to define the edge of the road each side in order to remain lined up correctly (though I'm absolutely not an expert by any means!!). Does anyone know whether drones etc have been used to survey roads for this reason? From my basic logic (only), potentially a big area? Curious to know anyones insights here

tyla,
how the charts looking?
I expected a gradual fall back to the 11/12 range until the next meaningful news so the rise today is a little surprise.
I suspect a little accumulation going on and we may just see the ATH being hit again before year end.
Booky, looking at the charts I think I will hold off buying until the fall looks like it's slowing down.
Been following all year since after the change and they seem to be doing pretty well with worldwide contracts. Was very high risk at the start of the year at 2p but they've come a long way since then with the new business. Contracts from Oz to Japan and now UK with Network Rail. I'd say after the very bad news on the software side they've done well. I know I've done well holding them this year. GL
The contract announcements from this company are often ambiguous! Today’s announcement is a continuation of a project to prove and expand the functionality of automation software. It is unlikely to be of any significant value even if its 4x the previous figure. However, this is very useful to MNO and much needed. Afterall, they need revenues / grants to advance the IPR they are building.
Investors (not day traders) need to be very wary of this management team, they have a very poor record of monetarising on the ‘valuable IPR’ they buy / create. The Chairs current strategy, involving moving a loss making drone surveying business into a ‘ subscription software & services business’ will be a challenge.
Hard to put a value on this one, Contract wins have been coming all year. Love todays news. Looks to be very scalable. Part of my future portfolio as its A.I. Will leave it in the SIPP for years the way it's going so far. Did top slice when we got a speeding ticket but it didn't have that much effect.

The contracts announced (all with no value attached) are mostly paid pilots (ie Network Rail & Japan) and small 'Grants' outside of Australia. In Australia they appear to be for existing Drone surveying work although the Australian Rail contract does look more interesting.
No mention of any level of subscription revenues driven by proprietary AI IPR. Very reminiscent of the 'smoke & mirrors' announcements (claiming great success in the FinTech world) the Chair & Non Execs spouted the first time around. It soon became hard to hide the fact they had no FinTech contracts at all!!!
They remain on the board. Leopards & Spots? A profit is not a profit until its cashed!

20% fall today after large rise last week - above average number of shares traded and mostly sells. Just profit taking or perhaps a fund raising in the offing and as usual those in the know what this to be at the lowest price possible. £1 million cash left at 30/9 but expansion plans and appointments will soon eat this up so perhaps new high of 17p was the catalyst to raise more cash. We will see. Whatever the case I have great hopes for this company and will add if price continues to drift.
Good luck to all holders. CY

Great to see Maestrano closing the week at an all time high. Even more so as it seems to have been achieved following solid newsflow of real growth & performance with a minimum of pr and sentiment, hype etc.
Not feeling any kind of further urge to touch the sell button. Long term hold for me most likely from now.
Up to 17 months holding now and to paraphrase SI on admission - it has been a great experience and I look forward with excitement and confidence.
