Massive volume in the last 15 mins on Mks, 27 million shares changed hands, probably the 0.50% short reversed out
Too true JJ!
Great weekend all and best of luck for next week, Mks are in the best shape for 8 years!
Absolutely correct, Mate .. All Best to you and a Happy CHRISTmas to you...........
Lets acknowledge that there are a lot of problems in the World right now and in the scheme of things the M&S advert is insignificant and won't be impactful on the business. All the best. JJ
@Investerinvester. Absolutely mate. Very odd the way they've gone about this.
This is the problem when bosses get their companies involved in political/woke BS. It causes all kinds of bad press.
They should keep out of such tomfoolery and concentrate on keeping their customer base as happy as reasonably possible by adopting a neutral stance on such matters.
@Pang.
It is. But if you're invested here, does it not bother you that the feedback from M&S's monumental screw up is going to have negative ramifications to it's bottom line (and profits), which will directly impact your return from dividend payments when customers ditch the brand for other retailers at a peak trading time?
It's a bit strange if not. Unless you've opened a large short position.
When did the board become the morality police, i thought it was a business forum
Two sane post's in one thread. Not happened for a while. 🤣.
Getting a little bored with it all now, can we please get back to making terrible SP predictions and dreaming
Apparently, traffic lights that are positioned close to fire or anything that looks like fire are to be removed as these are causing offence too.
Government desperately trying to find alternative colours for traffic lights as we speak.
These "Anti TV Ads" seem to be the norm at the moment - its a bad reflection on society.
Worst is the Domino Pizza ad.
Just for the record M&S can get it right - this ad is brilliant!

Absolutely right Trent700... MASSIVE and PERMINANT damage has be caused by this.. Know This ::: evil vs the Divine and Humanity, only ever one outcome ... and May Gods Pure Love Bless Us ALL..
I for one found it quite funny
shame about al the sados out there ( just a bit of light humor )
people or countries dont own the colours alot of flags use the same
It should have been scrutinised and binned off right from the start. They've effed up right from the start.
As if the overpriced food. and dull drab clothes weren't enough to put you off M/S, now their is this abomination of CHRISTMAS.. They shame themselves ,they shame their customers, and THEY SHAME OUR COUNTRY.... and May Gods Pure Love Bless Us All...
Volume picked up this morning, first hour volume:
Volume: 1,609,947
Mks have announced advert to be withdrawn
Neilhumphreys5ya
Was watching the trades data and some big trades did go through but as unknown for buy or sell. Looking at the publish time and price the two £6 million trades looked like buys.
All of the adverts are fantastic for different reasons, not everyone will agree, I asked some close friends today and 6 out of 8 thought the clothing one was hilarious!
Not everyone likes anchovies on toast, that’s life.
Shares down today due to another order filled at chums pricing
It's red from opening, but still well up on beginning of the week, so Santa will still be happy. The MKS food advert is much better.
Market up 1.5% mks into the red bit disappointing Santa must have seen the advert and sold out 😵💫
Some of these do gooding shower lot need their ars# kicked. As for many of the so called self righteous christian types if they are a sign of christianity I will stay well away from it.
Giantsquid, an attack on Christmas WOW.
I totally agree with Hexam. What part of Christian values are attacked? Please explain.
I will still go to church Christmas morning and i will happily tuck into my Marks and Sparks christmas dinner.
Look i'm not trying to defend the indefensible, nor dilute the significance of a religious and cultural cornerstone either.
Up my neck? MKS is easily one of my most profitable shares at the moment. Please tell me what elves, paper cards and the fairy on top of the tree has to do with Christianity? A few tweets from the easily offended (everything draws complaints from somebody or other) doesn't leave me petrified, just with a kind of sad despair about human nature.
In my view comparing to other religious festivals is at best disingenuous (and at worst something far more sinister) since they are not knocking the religious side just some of the silly trappings associated with Christmas.
Hexam, the ad is most definitely an attack on Christmas, an attack on traditional Christian values and celebrations. You're invested here and are simply trying to defend the indefensible because you're up to your neck and petrified of the potential fall out and huge drop in share price post Christmas when the full scale of the boycott becomes apparent.
This tweet perfectly sums up the mood of thousands of extremely angry people :
'@marksandspencer, while your ad aims to celebrate the diversity of how people spend their holidays, it misses the mark on respecting the essence of Christmas. This isn't just any holiday; it's a Christian festival commemorating the birth of Christ. Your ad's tone, which some have described as 'outright nihilistic,' dilutes the significance of a religious and cultural cornerstone for many.
If the intent is to challenge traditional norms or poke fun, perhaps consider doing so with a less sacred occasion. How about applying the same creative liberties to Diwali or Eid? Let's see how that goes down'
