Like buses one piece of good news is followed by more positive news of director buys as well.
Expanding into Europe. Excellent news for the group!
Haven’t been able to watch the presentation yet. But hopefully they’ll be something in there to get excited about regarding future growth. I think the “double down” on franchise partnerships looks like the best opportunity for early growth.
“Double Down on Franchising: Plans in place to accelerate growth via franchising, whilst continuing own store roll out in grade A locations, at least five openings planned in 2024 with our partners”

Agree, was hoping for more information on European expansion especially but it feels like they are sort of waiting for potential partners to approach rather than being proactive. I'm positive, but not excited which is a shame.
Thought the results where pretty underwhelming but price action looks positive since. Hopefully board, Luke Johnson etc have a positive plan to progress business forward…
Without rereading the company's profile which I highly recommend you do, the big plus is that most of the products are made in a central location and shipped to outlets saving kitchen space therfore freeing up more space for diners. The staff are all trained to make any in-house products.
It is a concern that restaurants are closing down but in a different perspective its also good news because it means the brick-and-mortar is there
Anyone with same thought? why this one should be different.
Thanks, heavily undervalued. I was trying to get in yesterday and today then this happens lol, hopefully ill get a chance tomorrow.
Luke Johnson just bought 1.4m shares (3.6% of the company). He took control of Pizza Express in the 90's and grew the share price 20x before selling the business. He's been involved with The Ivy, Strada, Giraffe, Gail's and more. The guy has a proven track record of successfully buying and selling restaurant businesses for decades. With the recent CEO departure, there has to be takeover noises in the city. By far the largest mexican casual dining chain in the UK and valued at sub $20m. Peanuts compared to Chipotle Mexican Grill stock in the US at $70bn valuation.
Up over 20% ,Someone knows something.
Looking at this mornings trades maybe somebody is quietly building a position here.
Greetings and salutations.
I really like Tortilla mex, so I decided to get the ball rolling and purchased a few shares today. I'll be a regular once a week customer aswell. I've ate here before, it's really tasty food. I think they should work on a budget saver menu to attract more customers whos on lower income, with the cost of living rising people are always looking for a bargain. Maybe Tortilla mex could offer £2-£3 mini tacos or meal deals like £10 for a burrito of choice with a mini taco, fries and drink. Anyway, hopefully it picks up really well.
Think I'll treat myself to a burrito today actually..
Will be keeping an eye on these shares.
Good luck everyone.

Theyve just made it easier to grasp op leverage.
Don't see this addressed ever but how do people reconcile the accounting - Tortilla debiting COGS twice, once at the gross profit level and a second time at the OPEX level. Have a look at the filings notes and youll see it
Bull & Bear case for Tortilla
Very tedious thread, but if you have the energy/time - I reckon it could be worth it.
Again > apologies in adv for any spelling/grammar errors.

Surprised not see more interest in this profitable growth business well placed to thrive in tougher times and take opportunities to expand. The university campus and airport sites already look like great successes
Great business model fits well with deliveroo model building kitchen deliver only locations
Creates a recession proof model where people want affordable healthy food
My family love Tortilla two are vegetarian and love them much nicer than McDonald's or such like
