3i Group at yet another all time - I hope that their decision to have over half the fund invested in just one business doesn't backfire (it has been the main driver so far)
Lloyds staying steady - just need it for a few more months for the start of the next buyback
Like it or loathe it hunt's autumn statement seems to have been reasonably accepted as sound by the markets ATM...obviously time will tell more....gla
LTI AKA ISA MAN,
"Lloyds staying steady - just need it for a few more months for the start of the next buyback"
Loyds is not steady its down on the year and 26% down in 5 years.
WHAT PART OF LLOYDS IS STEADY ??????????
The only steady for lloyds IS THE CONTANT DELCINE AND THE IVESTORS DISAPPOINTMENT.
DOG CRAP no major investor confidence in the DONKEY. WHO CAN BLAME THEM,
Crumbs off the table to investors BANKS GIVING MORE IN INTERESTS WITHOUT YOUR SHARE DECLINING.

''WHAT PART OF LLOYDS IS STEADY ?''
Lloyds has been steady in a low price range for a number of weeks, which if it continued would be excellent for the next buyback.
That was clearly the interpretation that the post of 24 Nov 2023 16:51 would have been portrayed, even to a halfwit - unfortunately you are no more than a fifthwit.

''LTI,You talk more crap and believe your own crazy predictions even predicting a buy back''
Isn't the idea of buying Lloyds shares at low SP hoping to sell high at some point in time and collect reasonable divi's along the way & if good divi's down the line hold. If one doesn't hold Lloyds shares don't post tuck off .......simples

''WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY THIS CRAP ANYMORE??''
Maybe some investors would be interested in the 14% total returns that Lloyds can afford.
I bought more a month ago at under 40p, but on my average price my personal total returns that Lloyds can give equates to about 30%

The latest completed buyback commenced at over 52p a share and ended in the low 40's and has remained there ever since. So what benefit is in that for shareholders. It is looking nailed on Labour will win the election. With no more room to tax the fossil fuel industry the next best industry to hit is probably the banks. Profits here will be excellent with the higher interest rates and mortgage holders crying poverty, and large buybacks will attract the politicians attention. The losers, well shareholders.

''So what benefit is in that for shareholders.''
not again ffs
without buybacks there would now be an additional 12,379,829,989 shares on the market.
You can work out yourself what the current share price would be with that many additional shares ,with the current market valuation of Lloyds.
Does anyone know how many lettings are now rented and what rents are paid?
Lti, if all those shares were still in circulation and the share price was lower by that amount ,then the dividend percentage would be higher .being that cheap would attract buyers I am old and senile,so could you please explain to a daft old sod..thanks
Lti i was just wondring what the current state of play, cheers
Mal
''then the dividend percentage would be higher''
having fewer shares on the market means that the amount of money allocated to dividends go to those fewer shares, enabling a higher payment per share.
A dividend paid per share can be progressive even with flat profits, if the number of shares is reduced.

current state of play is that Citra will continue with house purchases and rent as soon as it is possible .

the current forward dividend yield is already very attractive compared with the ftse 100 average and indeed attractive against cash returns., but as yet is not propelling Lloyds to a higher valuation due to current uncertainties that the market is concerned about.
It is time of market apprehension that may give an investor the best longer term opportunities
Citra under a Labour Government ? Careful what you wish for.
UK under a Tory Government is bad enough.
