Copper gets a mention (Iron ore also - where is that deposit(s) i wonder. These types of infrastructure are vitally important if Botswana is ever to develop into a significant market economy / opportunity. Long way to go sadly.
KAV shares in the gutter
Turney & co still can’t create any shareholder value despite spending millions
Turney & co still earning from KAV
Somethings never change
More of the same in 2024 is my prediction, the past would suggest its likely to be accurate
KAV drilled 3 diamond holes c1000m at Hillside, the anecdotal suggestion is they found a lot of gold. Cores sent to a local assay office with results possibly in Jan. Drilling will start at Nara in week 2 or 3 of Jan 24.
KAV processing geophys for Karakubis, drilling expected end Mar 24.
Investors cannot discount geological risk, if there's nothing there you move on.
I agree the track record hasn't been great but KAV and BT have made significant changes over the last 12 months so my prediction is gold & lots of it in 2024. If Karakubis (and they have the regional expert) comes off its ultimately worth 6-10p/share.
As BT has said in his tweet, this is a perfect time to be drilling for gold. It just needs some decent results to kickstart this. There aren't many shares floating around at these cheap levels, and so it will move quickly if the results are half decent, which BT has suggested they will be.
It seizes to amaze me how people keep quoting from somebody who has proven to be a serial blagger. From years of talking about imminent discoveries, over hyping and misleading people we have naive folk here still trusting BT. Share price has fallen from 6 pence to 0.65 on BT’s watch.
Pauly. I once had high hopes of the Great Red Spot making me several hundreds of thousands of Pounds. Can BT really be blamed for it turning out to be a Duster?
Madam Drillbit could easily have sent the share price to 60p (maybe even £6) but it wasn't to be. Hopefully, gold will lift us out of the doldrums.
BT is due some luck. Hopefully, he/we will get some!
Yes hold for gold, as the Director and BT are doing - assay results will be due soon and if they are half decent then bounce back can commence. It won’t take much buying to move this as most of the stock is in tight hands.
Of course BT is not purely responsible for the fact that all the projects he's drilled to date have been total and utter duds.
His advisors and confidantes should take some of the blame too. He presents these folk as "god like" when in reality they are about as sucessful as most exploration geos (i.e. not very, but coat-tailed on other inventive folks discoveries).
Like the other serial blagger (and BT's pal) who ran POW you can only fool some of the folk some of the time, eventually if you've not been successful enough you end up "mining up your own backside" as anyone who knows high-grade Au-shoot mining will understand. Is the same fate in sight for KAV now the massive Zim opportunity beckons?
Whatever happened to the old DeBeers core from the Dittau project? Also pants.
Actually maybe it should be renamed "Ditto" as all these guys seem to have the same MO - find naff all, rinse and repeat and destroy shareholder value, again and again.
Surely a Board is meant to exercise independent judgement on the suitability of CEOs and calling out BS as well?
If he really is "due some luck", I hope for the sake of those seemingly still being sucked in on hype that it comes very quickly...
All IMHO, DYOR and GLTAH (never again me though!)
I would be on the same page as you here Swak. There has been all the blah blah over the years with expert this that and the other etc. But Dave C is highly regarded within his fieldd so that made me pay attention. And the Purebond and new Chairman dropped in serious dosh - which is dependent on drill and commodity success. Rather than recovering via slow bleed of salaries and/or contracts with their private companies etc.
So i am hugely optimistic that, this time, the story makes sense and hopefully in time comes good !
If Purebond are in at 1p, then they will see success at 5p. It is easy enough to keep track on the math.
You need to listen to the interview given by Purebond. There was more than a hint in there that if the management don't deliver results here, Purebond will get rid of them. The reality is that BT's neck is on the line here MORE than it ever was when it was just retail shareholders to be accountable to. PB have given him £6 million of their cash, and they will expect a return, and won't endure the failures and false dawns of the past.
So they need to hit some mineralisation from this current and forthcoming drilling, otherwise they will be feeling the pressure of PB - and rightly so.
A much better situation in terms of accountability than what we had before. All imho and dyor
Swakopunter - excellent post. I called out the former POW clown a long while back. Hearing all is utter blagging reminds me a lot of Bt.
Legalwolf and boots - good objective observations
New tweet, looks like they're cutting cores a bit odd when BT said assays "early in the new year". Secondly they've decided to drill more at Hillside when BT said they'd finished and were starting at Nara and they'd moved equipment. Just wish BT & KAV do what they say.
I thought he said Q1 for Nara drilling? If they are still drilling at Hillside, then isn't that a positive sign, as they wouldn't be wasting precious time and money unless they were happy with the way it's been going.
Karakubis is "Q1"
Nara was "immediately after Hillside" and BT said that was finished in early/mid Dec, the problem was they completed 3 drills but didn't have enough time for a 4th. On the whole, I agree its probably a good thing drilling a 4th hole at Hillside because they'll need to make a decision on the option by the end of Jan. The drilling has been a lot deeper c330m per hole although I was rather hoping the bulk mining prospect was much shallower.
At Nara KAV have upgraded the target from 500k to 1m oz so fingers crossed
Thanks JP - I tried to listen back to the interviews but couldn't find the one which referred to timelines - although I did recall it. Yes, it makes sense for them to complete as much as they can so that they have as much info as possible to decide what they wish to do with the option.
I don't know what the timescale is for starting to release some results from Hilliside, but some of the junior goldies are perking up and I suspect Q1 will be a great time for any junior goldie to release some positive gold results to the market. So hopefully KAV will have something exciting to report back to us soon. In the meantime, it's just continue to accumulate at these lower levels in anticipation. All imo and dyor
The timelines for assays tended to be 3 months when core was sent Bots-JHB but KAV are likely to use ANTECH LABORATORY which is c100 miles NE of Bulawayo. BT did say early new year suggesting the lead time is much shorter. You would hope KAV will release results for the first two holes fairly soon.
If you want some interesting reading which is highly applicable to Hillside as similar greenstone belt, check out Pambili's NI 43 -101 report.
