Guild's interim results confirms the two core issues we've been worried about: 1) Falling sponsorship revenue/interest and 2) Underperforming esports teams/players. With no clear strategy beyond Esports World Cup and no serious sponsor news, the second half of 2024 does not bode well.
Failed business model suprised if still going next year
Looks like everything is being banked on the World Cup. Raised £500k and already down to £100k.
Surely a World Cup should be bringing in sponsorships but they seem incapable of doing so. Failed business model.
C.100k cash in June and c.£2m annual losses.
Funding requirements / funding imminent?
Cautiously optimistic for the remainder of 2024 and beyond.
Guild’s 4th team entry into the EWC.
Here’s hoping a major sponsorship deal is announced before the start of the EWC.
Indeed, Snow. When is the last time Guild added a sponsor? They've only shed sponsors as far as I know (ex. BitStamp, Coca Cola) and we're already halfway through 2024.
It’s a difficult one agreed. The better top tier pro players cost more to bring on board. Without major sponsorship deals it’s very challenging for Guild to become one of the top esports clubs.
They need major sponsorship deals. Hopefully in time they will come as the esports sector grows.
This is good Snow but we should be doing better. Failed to qualify in EAFC, no CS2 roster to speak of and missed first opportunity to qualify in Fortnite and it will be very competitive for last two EU spots I’d be surprised if Guild made it.
The Guild racing team are far from world beaters, not made it to a single final race in the current season. I don’t follow Apex so can’t comment on that.
Im pleased we’ve got 3 competing but in terms of real revenue from this event, this year won’t be it. Hopefully Guild will be planning ahead to next year to get a stronger set of teams together. In fairness Jasmine had some serious book balancing to do when she took over but next year core offering of world class esports teams needs to be the focus

Guild strengthens presence at Esports World Cup
Guild Esports PLC (LSE: GILD; OTCQB: GULDF), a global gaming-focused media business, is pleased to announce that the Company's professional Street Fighter player, Chiu "Rainpro" Chin-yat, has qualified for the Esports World Cup (EWC).
Rainpro secured his place in the EWC after finishing 7th in the highly competitive DreamHack Summer 2024 tournament ("DreamHack") in Jönköping, Sweden on Friday, 14 June. At the EWC, he will compete for a share of the $1m Street Fighter prize pool; the Company will receive 35% of any winnings he secures at the event.
Guild will now be represented at the Esports World Cup across three events: Apex Legends, ESL R1 and Street Fighter. All three events count towards the Esports World Cup Club Championship, a cross-game competition at the EWC where the world's best esports organisations will compete for a share of a $20 million team prize pool.
Jasmine Skee, CEO of Guild Esports, commented: "We're thrilled that Rainpro has secured his place at the EWC in what promises to be the most exciting esports tournament in history. After an incredible qualifying performance, we know he will do us proud in Riyadh and gain us vital EWC Club Championship points."
Great result, Guild Rainpro has won through in Street Fighter 6, Dreamhack Sweden to win a spot in the EWC Riyadh.
So Guild will be competing in SF6 EWC Riyadh.
GILD, KRPZ and INHC all rallying and in the top 20 very nice to see......world cup start soon
Completely agree. Guild seems to be betting everything on one event (EWC) which ends in 2-3 months. I see no viable long-term strategy. They’ve gone from fielding Top 10 esports teams with real relevancy/sponsorability to Top 100 teams that are mostly irrelevant.
Can only assume the cost of salarying these teams will be outweighed by participation / winnings in the EWC but it’s so short term it’s. There’s not a single player at Guild that has any real long term connection to the organisation that I can think of, so what are fans supposed to be following?
Just about af !p Christmas time
It was also done/RNS'ed earlier in the week
taken the market 3 days to catch up

The shares were acquired by Mr. Koshy Vinod. The acquisition makes him the third largest shareholder in Guild Esports, per a list of significant shareholders on Guild’s website.
No.1 top riser today
RNS OUT today, I’m sure the herd will arrive shortly. A long way off my average too but looks more promising today.
Maybe it’s bottomed out.
Used to be 6p :(
Long way to go before I reach my average! The rise is welcome though. :)
3rd on the top risers board
