A new issue of the company's in-flight magazine, Places, has just been published. All the best to all remaining "Stalwarts"!
A man hanged himself at the Joshua Mqabuko International Airport on Thursday after checking into a flight to Johannesburg. A passenger who was on the early evening FastJet flight to South Africa said the man had been allocated seat 15A on flight FN8663.
"He arrived at the airport and checked-in. Then for whatever reason he went to the male toilet and hanged himself. It appears he had a rope.”
Police had recovered a diary "full of suicide notes.” Airport officials declined to comment.
I suppose there are bound to be a few people who just can’t face the prospect fo flying with fastjet!
Well Marksman, there seems to be some life left at least, glad to see FJ is still operational. I dont know much about relisting, however have been reading some worrying 'tricks' that can leave original investors with nothing to show for their patience, lets hope not !!
Welcome back Dabler. I really thought this place had died, with no sign of life for over four months. Hardly surprising given just the sight of tumbleweed blowing across it in the dust.
Still I’ve been one of the original “Stalwarts” since I bought in way back in 2013. And whenever I’ve been provoked into posting I always do a random check to see if we have any aircraft actually in the air! And am pleased to confirm that a random selection shows there are not one but two flights from Harare to Johannesburg operating on 6 June at 06:10 and 16:45. So all is well.
At this rate, you should hear from me again sometime in late September! ATB to all investors in fj.
Make that 5 :)
Holding shares since delisting, never been in this position before, what realistically do you think the chances are of a relist and getting funds back? I'm not holding much hope, but there seems to be a glimmer....
Welcome, BuyMeAnother, to the fastjet forum. Despite your “giving up”, your final sentiment suggests otherwise. Let’s hope we see more posts from you in 2024 and that your forecast proves to be prophetic.
Make that 7. If this turkey relists, will I get my shares back? Have given up all hope, but it looks like Fjet could be dialing up bigger profits in 2024.
Sorry!! I see it seems as if html is not permnitted on this forum. So without any of that, here, again, is what I posted:
The December issue of “Places” has just been published.
It is free to all passengers and includes just eight pages of almost all full-page advertising. The articles are beautifully illustrated in full-colour.
You need a large 27” monitor to be able to read it, otherwise I imagine you could print it out at full size on an A4 printer.
Have just spotted the omission of much of my original post, which should've read: "The December issue of “Places” has just been published, available to see at this link:

Best Christmas wishes to you to Marksman. I join you in hoping for Fastjet taking off at last. I have recommended your post for luck!
Enjoy yourself my friend
Christmas wishes Ronwin! Stay well. See you around I hope in 2024. And though I might say it every new year, may it be the year when fastjet takes off at last!
Actually there are at least SIX of us now. An encouraging increase.
Nice to see new posts on the forum, i thought it may have been closed down. I guess at the current share price post reallocation, not many people will take a punt.
Do we think this will get relisted at some stage?
I am so pleased you are still around and willing to post again. You have always been one of my 'closest' stalwarts! A warm welcome back. Any opinions on the chance of the share price ever recovering? It still seems so odd to me when tickets still seem to be flying off the shelves and filling seats that the SP doesn't budge. Keep well.
Good evening Marksman.
I am pleased to report that I am still around and in good health. I have just finished a season of bowls and was able to play all matches except one. Doing lots of walking too.
Good to see you are around and I hope you are well too. Can't believe it is so long since I posted. An AWOL Stalwart has returned!
Oilyguy: Couldn’t agree more. It looks as if Fossiebeer is still around and, more importantly, still contributing to this forum too. So there are still three of us!
There used to be a regular poster, with whom I met up once at one of the company’s AGMs in London, after several months (years?) of mutual communication here, and his username was Ronwin (last post dated 1 January 2021). That rather confirms my suspicion that his infirmity I recall may have worsened. Of course I sincerely hope not, so if you are still a stalwart, Ron, re-engage as soon as you like; you’d be most welcome.
Marksman. Its good to know that at least there's two of us stalwarts prepared to still peep over the parapet. All the best.
After another vain check to see if anyone else is around on the LSE fastjet forum, I'm disappointed if not entirely surprised to discover no new posts for five months!!!, but there was some comfort to see that a new edition of fastjet's travel magazine Places has been published, dated September/November 2023. Its 48 pages are strongly focused on South Africa with the last few pages devoted to federal Airlines which operates shuttle and charter flights. Before that, pages 40-43 follow the usual style and content familiar to any former "stalwarts" still active! And there is the usual "Welcome Letter" headed "Warm Greetings" on page 4.
However, it's a bleak sign of its status that full page ads are right down at 3, plus one double-page spread for HAC Medical. To the best of my knowledge (ie: recent research) there have been no Annual Report and Financial Statements since 2021 nor the in-flight magazine Places since 2018. Nor before that's predecessor, TravelSmart, whose masthead conspicuously featured its famous African Grrey parrot.
However, it's good to see the company is still surviving but disappointing to see it is no longer voted Africa's Leading Low-Cost Airline at the World Travel Awards since 2021 and voted for the previous 5 consecutive years.
As for the share price, as Basil Fawlty might've said, "Don't mention it!"

When can we see this share trading again?
Good news ALWAYS welcome here, Fossie.

New aircraft route started.
Might as well keep posting good news despite my now miserable share holding!

RE: FASTJET GEARS UP FOR NEW ROUTE LAUNCH
HARARE, ZIMBABWE | fastjet Zimbabwe, the award-winning value-based airline has today welcomed the arrival of an Embraer 120, 30-seater aircraft to its Harare base.
The arrival of the first of three Embraer 120 aircraft is in preparation for the value-based airline’s plans to operate domestic flights to Kariba and Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. These new routes will bring to five the domestic destinations that fastjet operates in Zimbabwe after Harare, Victoria Falls and Bulawayo offering customers seamless connections to Zimbabwe’s top domestic tourism destinations.
Nunurai Ndawana fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson said, “We are delighted to welcome this aircraft to serve our domestic new routes to Kariba and Hwange National Park. Air connectivity is a key enabler for tourism development, and we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the development of tourism in Zimbabwe and the region”.
“We are finalising our preparations for the launch of flights to Kariba and Hwange National Park. The arrival of this aircraft will see us concluding the mandatory regulatory processes in operating flights to these strategic destinations in the development of tourism in Zimbabwe. In preparation for these route launches the aircraft will operate a series of ad-hoc charter flights around Zimbabwe ahead of the full schedule launch”, concluded Nunurai Ndawana.
The new flights are available for booking via the fastjet website, App and the usual online trade portals.
No idea what is going on here .I thought they had gone into administration a long time back .In my transactions a large amount of shares sold for nil on 30/09/22 then replaced with a couple of non tradeable shares .*Which appears again in transactions today .104% deal size loss .Bought them late summer 2016 twice, selling half of those buys back a year later at tiny amount above second buy .Many DEG Exchage transactions not making sense in 2018Possible 00 / RI ....30/7/2018 .
I’ll wait then, it’s only £4K , I prefer £20k in a couple more years ??
