Just for fun, i wouldn't sell DEC for under £2 old money (£40 in todays value) as it reached a high of £1.40 last year on more shares and slightly more debt with less acquisitions.. thinking of it i recon £4 to £6 in old money off the bat..unless those 5000+ suppressed patents in renewable energy are unleashed then gas will be in short supply and high demand in the transitional period of renewables…( unless of course the vulcans or annunaki pop across too our galaxy and lend a hand, sponsored by loreal, in case were worth it) my avg is 57.5p in old money as i see a growth recovery play here, i’ll give it to end of year to see those sp rerates budding and blooming into next spring…would say too look out for those other new sectors like Ai and EVTOL breaking through into new ground. Boeing have invested a fare chunk into the EVTOL over the last couple of years…imho

No problem, I do not plan to reinvest my dividend simply due weighting this now has and my lowish entry of £9.35 so do not need to average down like a lot do.
Yep the probably been some changes overall II are keen it seems.
I almost do not want them to reduce debt lol..As right now someone can buy Dec outright for cheap.
Cheers tazed, vey much appreciated.
Seems like the figure has gone up since you last posted. General public figure seems interesting to keep a keen eye on too.
Hope some of you more braver traders out there took the plunged and traded the gaps/windows candlestick pattern.
Looks like the candlesticks are in a sideway consolidation period channel looking roughly between £10.50 to £11.90.
Hopefully the next lot of financial quarterly figures will will DEC chipping away slowly and steadily at there financial goals as laid out in the may 2024 presentation, not sure if ALL will be met and surpass expectations lets keep our ears and eyes to the ground and see how things pan out.. ps: how many are putting their DEC dividend money back in at these prices or looking for other better short to mid term opportunities?

Trying to find a link/webpage/site that can show the ii list of institutions holding DEC. I remember recently a figure roughly around 60% to 65% was held. The rest by Bod and joe public.. has this crept up or down.?

Looking at the amounts might even be a bot, looks price linked wither way though I agree
13,458 BB on Friday - it does indeed seem linked to the SP by some formulae?
To be fair I could be asking you same question.. I would not class myself as being successful but been at this a long time and have been more fortunate recently as taken advantage of some bargain stocks.
I made it clear I do have other stocks but most are more active in the main communities I chat and discuss stocks on, fortunate there better moderated, while all for opinions see some are more useful then others.
I am keen to get others insight in stock that I have heavy investment in so more active.
Cannot figure what motivation you have? Care to share
Couple of positives heading into a new week
GG: '....you're exclusively posting on this one single share, incessantly. Why ?' - One could ask you exactly the same question!?!?

Tazed, given you undoubted investing successes, what's the sudden obsession with posting anything and everything you can find relating to DEC ? I mean, there's been no posting from you about anything else for a while now. You've obviously got other huge (by the standard of us mere mortals) holdings, yet you're exclusively posting on this one single share, incessantly. Why ?
£2m UT was intresting never been that high before
Doesn’t seem to say Why though.
Less international demand?
Lower export prices than US sales?
Not worth it at current prices?
US pressure to reduce exports and keep domestic price low?

The fall in the Oil Rigs means less gas a a by product.

Gas Flows to Sabine Pass LNG Export Plant Drop to 11-Month Low

This explains the recent drop in HH and perhaps DEC SP.
The best buy-back strategy would be to set a share price that offers good value to long term shareholders ( adjusted say quarterly to account for how the business performed in that quarter & the new NPV per share at the end of it)
Lets say for example they decide that £11 per share is good value (compared to the NPV per share of retained assets). If the share price rises above that figure the buy-back should either go into self halt mode (preferable) or to a small fixed number of shares bought daily. When the share price drops below the good value price the size of the daily buy-back should increase in size on a sliding scale, the lower the share price the more shares are bought back.
That way the most value is added to the company for the benefit of its long-term shareholders.
DEC's current strategy seems to have no rhyme nor reason to it, its mainly been flat then a couple of big chunky purchases -some at higher prices than normal purchases etc.
Time to sort out the buy-back strategy & have the broker implement it accordingly (obviously some of it is determined by the actual trading volume that occurs on a particular day, but it shouldn't affect the general strategy & principals being employed)

Wishing everyone a great weekend ! 😊
Tracker funds should be buying +++ if so.
Good strategy. Buyback increased against every possible short attack.
Back to the default 3,750 yesterday - ho hum.
TerryM1, could you ask the London Stk Exch or your online platform as they 'might' help you ?
MalcolmJ, we could set up a 'Just Stop Shorters' group and do as 'Just Stop Oil' do ??!!
Looks like the US downward pressure has gone. Hopefully we can get the show back in the road.
Burn the shorters
The BBs seem to ramp up when close or under £11 so this may be adding a bit of support. Looking at this as I am buying sub £11 to trade out shortly after.
I will still keep my main investment but hope to average down a bit.
