Never thought anything of it, and happy you find it interesting enough to repost...whoever the recippiant.
Parkez, I’m copying your post re flourinated plastics and using it on the RUA bb. That’s very interesting indeed. Sorry for the cross posting!
Parkez, quick apology. My post about “serious answer” starts with what reads as a patronising response. It wasn’t meant to. I wish posts could be edited. GLA.
The new polymer binding SYSTEM that allows the use of aqueous slurries could be a big deal if it does what it says on the tin.
The fact that it is probably being used in the new smt suggests it does.
Probably the reason the DR has joined
And probably the reason if any why Elon seems to be taking an interest....
I thought the smt was big....but this imo could be way way bigger.
As usual time will tell.
In the 2022 presentation the SMT cylindricals were priced to retail for 50p, obvs large quantities needed. There is also a prismatic SMT in development too. My thoughts are that this manufacture won't happen in Sydney. Where? I don't know. A '23 presentation had a strategy for India - cells and module sales, could be a good a place to manufacture as anywhere depending on orders.
Thanks Parkez for binder info. My timeline has lots of previous research for anybody interested.
See ya, have fun.
And from our patent.
Notably, the binder technology, used exclusively with aqueous electrode slurries, improves the environmental attributes of the organic solvents typically used in electrode manufacture.
The best supercapacitor binder material has traditionally been PTFE due to its insulating properties and hydrophobicity towards the electrolyte. Due to these features, the active material has a higher internal resistance and is less effective [43]. There is a growing demand for eco-friendly, fluorine-free alternatives to commonly-used fluorinated thermoplastic binders like PTFE [44].
Interesting.

Just thought I'd educate myself a little on what an actual binder is, and how big the market and licensing opportunities could be.
Me too
Lars also replied to him that he could try some samples. It just gets better and better. I can’t believe I’m wishing my weekend away. Lol
Rainer's the man! Told Skeleton to put a sock in it about their new 200 million euro supercap factory when they haven't even sold one yet
The oem route could be absolutely game changing in a very big way indeed
MM99 so you should be this should be one to deliver for all involved.
Great spot TonyP, I'm starting to get super excited about CPX again!
Wish I had 12% like Graeme Cooley has.. no wonder he is so confident he invested substantial sums and then joined cpx as a non exec
The demand and markets for supercaps is massive across so many applications, absolutely huge from medical to mobiles to transport to iot and aerospace and so much more .

Cpx been in touch with this lot during this last year
MMa99,
Rainer Hake's Capcomp feed - a Cpx related recent post, customers have been calling for SMT caps but no one has been able to make them until now

Customers have asked him previously for this DMT solution
