I think all who post on this forum agree with you regarding the atrocities in Israel & Palestine
Many factors will push the price of gold around, Ukraine has endured 600 days of Russia's onslaught with hundreds of thousands dead collectively and tens of millions forcibly displaced - one could argue that gold should have been affected more so by that much larger conflict
Some theorize that it's US longer term interest rates spiking that is currently spiking gold - counterintuitive as that may be considering gold has no yield (if held at home in a piggy bank)
I do hope Egypt's Sisi (and those demons Hamas )will allow the Palestinians to flee through the Rafah Egypt border - why Egypt a fellow Arab nation would prefer to see Palestinians whom they count as 'brothers' go hungry and possibly get bombed is beyond comprehension - if Israel really is an apartheid state then by the same token so must be Egypt
Because every brother knows that as soon as they leave, they'll never be allowed back.
Israel-Palestine conflict is in the Middle East, and it is likely that Hamas did not act alone, as Israel has never stood alone. The emotional network that flows from the ME is extreme, and we can even see and feel in Oz.
Cowichan.. (Why Egypt/Sisi will not allow the Palestinians to flee through the Rafah Egypt border?)
To answer this question from Egypt's point of view, it will require taking sides, which I don't want to do on this forum as it's not the place for it.
But as BushyTailed said (They will never be allowed back).
It may look harsh from the view of people who don't know the full details/history, but I and most Egyptians reject any plans to displace Palestinians and fully agree with the government decision. Even my Palestinian friends agree. There are no calls at all in Egypt to open the borders to let Palestinians in. The calls are there to let the aid through, and huge aid convoys are waiting to cross, but we are still waiting for a guarantee for the safety of the convoys. The Rafah crossing was heavily bombed on the first day as a clear message.
I could tell you alot about what's going on, more than what you watch on the local biased news, but let's keep the forum for what it's for..

Hi Mr Gnome,
Australia should be ashamed of itself, after all the indigenous people have been treated appallingly ever since the invasion and occupation of Australia by colonial ists
Mr Tibbles ,attitudes change.
Mintabie an opal mining area was given back to indegenous people , no ,more mining there for outsiders .
They had to leave by a fixed date, if their equipment was not out by that time it was left
Maybe justice.
Subsequent to the arrival of western colonists in Australia the aboriginal people have moved from a harsh, subsistence lifestyle to a more modern life leading to a large increase in life expectancy, a dramatic reduction in infant mortality and access to modern health and general lifestyle conveniences that we all take for granted.
In their 60,000 years of pre-western exposure they were unable to develop any of these things for themselves.
Your criticism of Australian people as a whole simple demonstrates another example of your uninformed, ideological bigotry.
Before you insult an entire nation maybe you should at least “fact check” your assumptions as you seem so wont to do on other issues - you muppet!
Ashamed of ourselves. You might want to do some research on how the aboriginals have been treated, by who and when and where. You might find some funny goings on.
its a sad affair all round, but not unlike the history of other countries.
The important thing is to build a future, and not getting lost in the past, which no one really knows much about, and tends to be written by various people with various agendas and biases.
We have wasted $0.5 b which if well managed could have greatly helped out the aboriginal people who still live in poor style, and many of course do not live in poor style.
You might have seen that the only people who voted for the referendum for the voice, were the elites in Canberra, playing to their own book LOL

Hi Mr Gnome,
I agree that we in the UK have a great to answer for considering it was Great Britain who decided to use Australia as a penial colony and then along with other countries went on to exploit the natural resources whilst treating the Aborigines worse than the unfortunate European livestock that were exported over there to provide A cheap source of meat.
That said what a pity then as Australia has tried to make amends for its treatment of its indigenous people that they are to be denied equal representation in Parliament

A campaign to deny Indigenous peoples a voice in Australia’s national Parliament is using tactics similar to an earlier conservative legal battle against First Nations communities in Canada, a new research paper argues.
That’s no coincidence, according to the paper’s author Jeremy Walker, because think tanks linked to these efforts in Canada and Australia belong to a secretive U.S. organization called the Atlas Network that’s received support from oil, gas and coal companies and operates in nearly 100 countries.
“The coordinated opposition to Indigenous constitutional recognition by the Australian arm of the Atlas Network we can assume is motivated by the same intentions underlying the permanent Atlas campaign against climate policy [globally],” writes Walker, a senior lecturer in social and political sciences at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia.

Thank you Mr Bond.
When gold rises and so does cey people become all moral- when it starts to drop again like today- everyone will soon start moaning about it’s fall lol.
We all know the drivers of cey and what it digs out of the ground, so we all know it needs other investments to be worse, so we all know this- so why do people invest if they have a morale issue? Bizarre. Most investments have moral issues, just different levels dependant on your viewpoint- investing in stocks can be seen as getting money for nothing on the backs of other workers, others argue if they didn’t invest the workers wouldn’t have work hence no money so would be worse off- you make your choice :-).
I think the reason CEY down today is its proximity to Gaza and Israel and the pressure on Egypt for passage of Palestinian refugees from South Gaza. Also, CEY Trading Statement out this Thursday. Other Gold miners are on the rise as Gold is a safe haven.
SteveJones999, lots of 'employees' receive money for nothing or at least excessive remuneration for what they do. There are numerous examples from sports(wo)men to show hosts to politicians to consultants !!
Sukari is 700km from Gaza and at least 300km from Sinai with the Suez Gulf and/or Red Sea inbetween - I'm not sure that constitutes a threat :)
Lovely new LoM plan here though.
SRB down, FRES down, SHG down, Hochs flat-are that all next to Gaza?
To be clear- I did not a circa 3.5% drop here on a slight drop on gold though- the sentiment and speed of jump in gold created the gold rush last week.
Missed out the word “expect” eg I did not expect the ~circa 3.5% drop….
Iran has told Israel through the UN that it will intervene if the country’s operations against Hamas in Gaza continue, a report has claimed.
Israel has warned 1.1 million people living in the north of the enclave to evacuate ahead of an expected ground operation in Gaza with the IDF planning to strike the territory from land, sea and air.

Iran warns that any Israeli ground offensive in the Gaza Strip could expand the scope of the conflict elsewhere in the Middle East.

The post on X by Iran’s mission to the United Nations came after US media outlet Axios reported Tehran warned Israel – in an official message sent via the UN – that it would have to respond if Israel carries out a ground offensive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip
