EVS have released EVS Map which is built on BIRD software. It looks like it will be their core product going forward.

Have they mentioned anything recently about how the EVS licensing deal is going?
Sumit Rai was Chief Product Officer for VEGAS Creative Software and is now running elevate.io, was previously the guy at Sony Vegas. It appears he left them when they turned down his idea for what is now the original idea for elevate. With BIRDs Enterprise software the market for elevate is much larger than that which exists for what Sony Vegas does.
this one gets a fair amount of chat on the hive, the actual application itself looks pretty cool, video editing on the fly with cloud based functionality. but yeah my reserve has always been they are taking on titans like adobe and sony vegas.

A lot of corporate governance speak. However the trajectory is hopeful and the product appears reasonably refined and effective. It's use at the summer games should be a strong test case for future rollout potential if they get the marketing pitch correct for the other addressible markets and creators they talked about.
After seven years of being invested and being told how amazing we are going to be, and that the technology is going to disrupt a billion-dollar industry. I had to turn off and save myself from hear this nauseating twaddle from CEO who in my opinion has now lost all credibility.
I was always impressed by the propaganda and how much personally money he had put in. But their body language and their appearance tell me all that I need to know about whats really going on here.

It has been very quiet since they launched the new product, I would have expected some updates with KPIs but hope that we will find out at the AGM next week that progress has been rapid...
Are they selling anything? No announcements or news at all. Come on Ian, you are letting your investors down.
The new Adobe terms and conditions might be the fire BIRD needs to kickstart uptake into its new subscription model as long as they don't emulate the same terms. There is hope
What, where and when is it ? Hopefully some answers at the AGM if not a great deal sooner.
4p looking like the new 6p…

yes, interesting situation regarding AVID and their road map ahead .....
maybe worth re posting that link indicating the problems ITV has had using AVID
https://www.computerweekly.com/news/366582032/ITV-News-tech-failures-nearly-caused-holes-in-live-broadcasts?
Agreed MikeyB55 - by going the content creator route, Blackbird must know pro users (who tend to be a bit sniffy about software they think is used by small 'Mom & Pop' users clipping up wedding videos) will eschew Elevate so Blackbird really need to market their product hard to the burgeoning influencer/content creators rather than wait for word of mouth.
BIRD was talking to AVID before they were the subject of a bid. The new CEO is keen on the Cloud. Some years ago Stephen Streeter was asked how long it would take AVID to convert their product into a Cloud based one and he said they would need a lot of skilled people, a shed load of money and up to 10 years and they still might not succeed. The one guaranteed way is to resume talks with BIRD. Similarly Adobe is not a Cloud Native product and they face similar obstacles to AVID. They don't have a problem now because elevate.io is not yet flying but when it does it will provide users with "everything that is needed and nothing that isn't". elevate will be adding new options as the opportunities arise. Every time a user logs on they will get the most up to date software to use. The aim was to get 1M users in 2 years (Adobe currently has 33M and the market is growing fast). My guess is that hey already have their marketing strategy sorted and it will use some novel methods to reach the users they are targetting - they have already indicated that customers who refer new users to them will benefit - and presumably the latest technology. AI from Twelve Labs will be important.
Good insights. Thanks hyper. The challenge though is that the patents protect their IP from being copied. The value of the IP has to be reflected in the revenue - ie customers will pay for the product. They do have a good product, but its called by brand dominance from Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid and the other big brand editors that are ingrained in the professional editing culture. The lower end of the market is not clearly defined, differentiated or priced and this is where Blackbird are competing. Need to up marketing spend to define the value proposition, differentiation and value and start to post sales. They had a brilliant marketing guy a few years ago and it all seems to have gone downhill since he left. This is an area they should invest in to push the value. Most of the marketing/PR seems to be aimed at investors rather than customers. Hopefully they get their act together and push forward
MilkeyB55
"Reflects the confidence levels of investors" yep, because potential investors don't understand the technology and IP which is certainly not reflected in the SP. The investors need to understand the patents belonging to the company to appreciate it's true value. How many potential investors look at patents or have the skills to understand what they mean? The value in this company is in the IP and software developed so far, investors just don't know how to value this. I am invested here until an offer for the company comes in and I hope for many multiples of current SP. Imho, dyor, no advice intended.

"Hopefully, BIRD can get a large piece of that action."
I think it is best to be aware that BIRD is only looking initially at taking a market share within a $6 billion part of that huge market, and that no doubt is a world wide amount ....so... given they will initially look at English language users in say UK/USA/ and maybe Australia/Canada then it is likely I suspect to be within defined areas initially ..which is probably no bad thing ...defined targeted users in targeted areas
" AI from Twelve Labs will be important"
At the moment it has only been added to the Enterprise product and not as yet the Elevate product
According to media analyst Evan Shapiro speaking at the Streaming Media NYV Conference earlier this week, the Creator Economy is currently worth over $250 billion and will grow to over $480 billion over the next 2 years. So not just 'Influencers'. Hopefully, BIRD can get a large piece of that action...

TW didn't perceive the departure of the non-exec as a concern. Just a general bearish view regarding cash running out in H1 next year and a perception that the £1m raised was to satisfy auditors for the year. Tom's view has to be taken in the context that he doesn't like blue sky techs that lose money for an extended period - 20 plus years in the case of BIRD so he has a point.
He doesn't believe elevate will succeed but that has to be balanced by the consensus view of video editing experts that BIRD's tech is superior and usually superior technology is acquired. That said, I wish they would get a move on with adding more features to the product and reachi the stage where elevate can go premium.
Anyone any insights in to what TW was spouting about today regarding Bird?

You said : "They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO."
You made that statement.....I didn't ..you did....
So..I am sorry..but that is not correct , hence you need correcting ...
You don't need to be "on the inside" to know that they HAVE NOT given up on the Blackbird Enterprise product
" Of course they have changed their business model completely. They completely shifted their focus from b2b to b2c. This is a completely different business model, messaging, target customers etc. They let go their key marketing people, who were b2b focused "
MikeyB55
with respect, you are mixing up two different things here, as a result of BIRD having two very different product offerings ...targeting very different customers
Their business model is terms of marketing is independent for each of the two products
They let go of marketing people in the UK within the Enterprise business and are using their OEM partners to promote and sell the product, as well as using key existing people in the USA to market the product at key trade shows etc .... in Enterprise they haven't changed focus from B2B to B2C ...
The second product Elevate is a natural B2C product and it has not had any marketing yet , but will use influencers and social media etc more than having a full in-house marketing team
"Their business model has changed completely."
well the business is the same, but the marketing in relation to each product is independent of each other , so inevitably it is going to be different ..because they are two completely different products
with respect.... it appears that you are the one who is missing some of those "facts" and mixing up certain things ..... and you are the one making statements that .well need to be corrected
Poker, here I have been thinking you are an insider, but you don't have all the facts on this. Of course they have changed their business model completely. They completley shifted their focus from b2b to b2c. This is a completely different business model, messaging, target customers etc. They let go their key marketing people, who were b2b focused. Their business has changed completely. You are very quick to shout down people on this board with different opinions, often without the facts. Chill. Life's to short.
"They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO."
What nonsense...
They have created a new product , but HAVE NOT given up on the Blackbird product....they are currently exhibiting at NAB in Las Vegas , for goodness sake after recently being at a conference in New York.
I think it is fairly common to update LinkedIn profiles , so I would not suggest doing so means one thing or another .... I would not jump to any conclusions , although it seems you already have
Has anyone noticed that Ian has update hi LinkedIn profile. It now reads like CV looking for a new position. Revised to be an entrepreneur that raises cash, resets strategy etc. From past experience when this happens the individual is marketing themselves for a new job. They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO. Different market, user base, pricing model, marketing & sales model, etc. Wonder if his revision of his LinkedIn CV is a reflection of his belief in the new strategy. Thoughts?
" What has actually happened falls so far short of the "general release" RNS that it looks like an open and shut breach of the AIM Rules"
"general release" just means that there are no restrictions in terms of who can sign up ...it doesn't actually have any meaning with regards to what is available within the product
It is as explained to investors after the recent results
There is more to update and a lot is sitting in the background..... but..it is a step by step process .....first thing.. try some freebies

The reference to online collaborative technology for the accounting industry is an interesting parallel to make. Xero took 11 years to get to 1m customers (2017). Expect Elevate.io to be a lot quicker given that online working / collaboration is now a thing.

Thank yuo for your response. I was concerned that Google might be entering the Elivate market. It would appear not the same product at all. That is not to say one of the big boys are not looking at the video editing space. They could of course buy us out, if they would be allowed too. Hopefully Blackbird will get a move on now they have a product to sell.
I think it is important to see and understand what Google Vid is, and what it is not ...
" Google Vids is very much not an app for making beautiful movies… or even not-that-beautiful movies. It’s meant more for the sorts of things people do at work: make a pitch, update the team, explain a complicated concept "
“The ethos that we have is, if you can make a slide, you can make a video in Vids,” “No video production is required.”
" Based on what I’ve seen of Vids so far, it appears to be roughly what you’d get if you transformed Google Slides into a video app."
https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/9/24124168/google-vids-video-ai-workspace-app
Thanks for that post. No evidence that we are involved in Google Vids, but if we are not, we certainly should be, or at this stage in Blackbirds history at least working with a major so that our disruptive tech can be fully utilised. NAB 2024 starts in a couple of days, I would expect any major news to be timed with that. IMHO. DYOR. And GLA.
All of the major vendors have been looking at ways to use AI to help customers develop creative content. On Tuesday at the Google Cloud Next customer conference in Las Vegas, Google introduced a new AI-fueled video creation tool called Google Vids. The tool will become part of the Google Workspace productivity suite when it’s released.
“I want to share something really entirely new. At Google Cloud Next, we’re unveiling Google Vids, a brand new, AI-powered video creation app for work,” Aparna Pappu, VP & GM at Google Workspace said, introducing the tool.
Does the above impact Blackbirds video editing offering. Comments.

Considering what's going on in the video editing world just now and the massive development of AI within video production, it is imho quite astonishing that share volume is so low here at Blacbird. AIM is certainly does not appear to be as it was pre COVID. So disappointing that the excitement has drained away from it, I suppose it mirrors the reality here in the UK. We all need an economic boost and the world to be a more positive place. Fingers crossed for a better future.

" Hopefully, I am allowed to have an opinion rather than being shot down for having one ????????? "
Very amusing coming from you,SisterAct whose only purpose here is to shoot down other people´s opinion
It can only be positive that they are proactively managing their cost base and therefore cash position during this key in their development. Looking forward to some KPIs on the new product e.g. total users, profile of adopters etc
Pc. I am not trying to achieve anything.Personal attacks aren't necessary. I am quite entitled to my opinion that I don't think offices moves whether its registered office or whatever is a "big move". Bird are downsizing offices, staff, customers and money. I don't see that as a cause for optimism I'm afraid. Hopefully, I am allowed to have an opinion rather than being shot down for having one ?????????
Blackbird Plc.
We ran our lease down and finally move out next month, into a smaller but more dynamic environment in central London.
The new office has flexible terms, which will allow us to grow cost effectively.
" How is moving the registered office to what is effectively shared office/space to rent in London a big move ? "
Sisteract
You are clearly trying to be some kind of roof top sniper making critical comments on whatever anyone wishes to post,no doubt trying to be clever ...
Now, if you had read the Annual Report page 43 you would have known that the old office lease has not been renewed and the Company is in fact making a "move" to new offices ..... it is not just a Registered Office but a new Office from which to be based.
The new premises are more dynamic and cheaper..used I suspect because a number of engineers work from home and this new Office facility allows you to book meeting rooms as and when required , giving more flexibility
The previous office as @hyper-al has indicated is now being marketed for lease to potential new occupants
Having a Holborn Office location is possibly better for employees to get to and for meetings, rather than out in Wimbledon
Maybe you need to review what it is you are trying to achieve

".....not just assuming that this can be done by a massive marketing campaign or simply trying to buy clicks "
There are many companies now that do no external advertising, their entire brand image is created through the experience that people have interacting with them online, through a growing Community ...interacting via social media and through regular email Update notifications etc ....the customer very much becoming part of the Product via their feedback and requirement changes
What is important here is having the right business model, and how they approach the task of building the elevate.io customer base over the long term - which they seem to have a good and clear strategy for.
Congrats to the team for not just assuming that this can be done by a massive marketing campaign or simply trying to buy clicks. Impressive and by no means common in today's world off seeking instant gratification.

I loved this soundbite which was always my vision for Blackbird now elevate "Our goal is that, over time, elevate.io will come to define how content is created and stories are told individually and through collaborating in teams."
The world is about to discover the disruptive technology of elevate.io
If you are into serious video editing and have access to a Chrome web browser then visit https://elevate.io once logged in things may look quite basic for now, although editing is very smooth. The most amazing part is available. Create a project then click that "Share" button, you can now collaborate with any number of users, from anywhere in the world on the same project. It is amazing and transformational for the industry. That is why I am invested here. Enjoy! 😊 If you have any problems or suggestions, support is fantastic.

yes.. a lot of waffle ..but the bottom line is ... they aim to laser focus on a very specific corner of the creator economy ....so yes ...agreed...the overall huge size is somewhat immaterial and not relevant.
Sumit is the driver here and has a very focused and disciplined approach and plan ...so he is more the leader here than IM ... ...IM seems to be looking more like a passenger in it all...
Sumit has very strong communication skills that will assist here far more than what IM can throw out ... unless IM takes on board some of Sumit´s rhetoric
I would say that if they stay fixed on their target customer and small finely targeted part of the market share and give these specific customers what they want , then the product has a chance of initial success ....and revenue could soon appear ...and it would be from there ..that any projections of further growth could evolve
so..there is no aim or even focus on blowing the creator economy apart ...... in reality ...when you get into the detail of the actual plan
There is no big marketing budget and no plan to go out with all guns blazing to take part of the creator economy that is outside their lane .... just gradual evolving as the targeted customer numbers grow ...
Interesting to see how it does ...more so..I think from what Sumit has contributed to it than anything ...
I think the £1m raise was aimed at supporting the Enterprise side, myself .... the sector there having a horrible time in general ..certainly was not raised with the idea of taking over the creator economy !!..steady on now
ATB
You have to hand it to IM. Certainly a ultra positive front man of a company that is losing money and customers.Going to the well for a 1m fund raise.... for what... as if an extra Million is going to make a difference.
but don't worry folks the tiddler from wimbledon is going to blow apart the creator econonmy. The shifting sands of technology development make it virtually impossible. Pulling the wool with eye watering billions that the market is worth in 5/8 years. it's irrelavant, it means nothing. without the fund raises they'd be out of cash or close to it in my opion. so what if they are in the olympics and every prestige event going.......they are making no money. In my opinion the interview was awful with a load of spoonfed underarms........ where were the difficult questions ?
I bought these shares immediately after the Forbidden Technologies IPO in 2000, I missed out on the initial ballot, so you can weep for the loss I'm sitting on, but I hope you are right about the future..!
I put money into this company way back when the 'cloud' was a new thing, I got that wrong, although luckily I did not take a loss. That must be a decade back or more. Now the cloud is established and used by everyone, the creator community has grown massively and our technology works with AI, I'm convinced this is the time when our disruptive technology will take hold. The rewards could be enormous, but like any investment there is always a risk.
If I had 5p for every time I've read that about this share, I could have safely realised my losses years ago haha
Personally I don't think we will ever see the SP this low again. We are are about to be elevated with elevate.io :)

I also topped up this morning, with the recent additional funds and the new product still on schedule to launch in Q1 (just) I am positive on this shares outlook.
Noticeable ahead of where I thought they'd be on cash which was nice to read.
Hopefully, a few the HTWs that subscribed will also start to buy in the market - or will be able to provide some kind of support in building user numbers. Bought 200k more this morning.
All eyes looking forward now.
