Hi Noggers
spot on buddy, i only sold half my JDW holding yesterday at £10.47
I nearly had a 8am beer when i saw them below a tenner at 8.01am
i did buy 1000 back at 8.03am @ £9.99, but then set an auto sell up at £10.49 and they sold by 10am..lol
Now £10.80
Shares.. what a journey JDW has sent me on, I should be rich of them, but i've bought too high & sold too low..lol
i don't mind telling you buddy, I'll be spending a few quid in my local Spoons this weekend, it's my duty
enjoy your weekend buddy
Looks like maybe the builders have almost fixed the dry rot in the 651 floor. Starting to show a little bit of profit on yesterday's buy. Hope I haven't spoken too soon... But still a long way to 8 quid for the bigger part of my investment. Still, the interest on that far off day will be a lot higher than if it were lying rotting in a bank: 12% compared to nothing.
Jonnie5x
I bet you wished you had sold all JDW yesterday, big drop first thing, you can never tell what will happen when they give a trading update.
BOO could go either way imo, i think today unless you want really long term it is best to cut and run when you have made a bit of profit, at the moment shares are very volitile, lot of things going on in the world at the moment, the biggest threat could be evergrandy in China.
Thanks Noggers
I've also been in/out of Boo, but never quite so low
i sold 1000 JDW at a tiny profit , and jumped into 5000 Boo @ 2.17 (I love a risk)
im also into builders, but hurting on them this week
GL buddy
Jonnie5x wetherspoons is a share that I have never watched so I can't say anything about that one, I wouldn't tell anyone what to do anyway it's upto one's own judgement, it's just I have watched BOO and a lot of others and for some reason BOO tends to go down on results day even when it is what everyone says is a good update.
wise words Noggers
ps, what your opinion ion JDW, i'm holding (just in profit), results are out tomorrow
i'm tempted sell 50% and gamble on the other 50% rising tomo
Been in BOO a few times in the past, but you should always sell those before trading update because they always seem to go down that day, could be decent buy to be in and out quickly especially with no tax to pay, the thing is it is just trying to time it right.
at least we are having a few giggles on this board guys.
and hopefully no here is holding Boohoo, that looks nasty today, but I'm tempted to join their party (below £2)
well at least we are having a few giggles on this board
could be worse, we could be holding Boohoo.. I'm glad to say I've dodged that car crash
i am holding JDW and not sure to sell today (result are out tomo)..another gamble / anyone else holding ?
Think we've got one - just tossed a coin to confirm it! lol Have a 'buy' pre set at 8quid. That shows you how much confidence I've got in Barret's foundations - excuse the pun!
Patiently awaiting one! Trouble is, when I think I've found one, down further she goes! End of the day, it will eventually go back up and we will ALL make profit... if we don't sell our Paper Loss!
Most builder shares are up today so maybe that is why we are only 15-16p down today.
Yes, the shares have gone ex-div at start of trading today. The divi is 21.9p/share so current sp movement (down 14.4p) is equivalent to a 7.5p rise [which is just less than 1%, about the same as the move in Persimmon this morning, for example].
Hi Noggers
Yes be nice to see the SP back into 670’s today/ Tomo
We’ve been beaten up enough recently .. lol
Not down as much as the divi, so up to press not bad.
Hey BigBangs we all make mistakes especially with divi days and such, bloody hell I have made a few in my time.
missed out Nogger (well done, thanks for confirming), I've been caught out in the past, always best to check
(hopefully by Friday we will be back to 670's and all pocket the DIVI)
bigbangs, I'm wrong loads of time, don't feel bad buddy ( you had me checking twice so your sales skills are strong.
Sunset, thanks for a giggle buddy ( about the bookies, lol) laughing is good, owe you a pint.
All - let's hope we make some cash !!
Damn - hands up - i think I am wrong what is worse is that I was absolutely convinced I was right - not my first rodeo but I have double/triple checked and stand corrected. Sorry for the confusion.
The divi drop will be on Friday 1st October the record date. Let’s watch and see.
Like you say spawny100 most likely they will drop around the divi, so if you could buy them tomorrow at say 20p cheaper and also get 21p divi as well it would be great and everyone would do it.
Noggers is right. You must buy today to get next divi payment. These will drop over 20p tomorrow as it's ex div date. It's not difficult.
Ok joggers, I respect your position but I am sorry on this occasion you are just wrong. Never mind everyone is perfectly entitled to make their own call. ATB
No disrespect BigBangs but anyone buying shares in this on the 30th will not get the divi on those shares.
