Good Luck All
Well done Mr A, was just about to log off and see a new post, great minds alike, best of luck with your trade.
Didn't expect it to trigger my alert until Monday am, was hoping for 151/ 152.
In fact I only just posted my re entry as you did ask when I place and close my Barcs.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Please do not be polite and reply as im literally out the door in 30 seconds.
Regards W'
GL both Mr's :)
Good Evening MrWolf (and all), I appreciate that you normally have the “weekend off” so don’t expect a reply from you as such. Yes, great minds and all that! A collection of reasons of why I bought in at this price and got exceptionally lucky to buy at almost todays bottom price. Famous last words? We all play the game differently but my exit strategy today is either circa 10% return of let it run until the February 23 results… whichever comes first. Went “all in” with my lump within my ISA, so no CGT or Tax Return Issues. Not sure what your strategy is but are happy to listen.
Good Luck my Friend!
Regards MrA
razzledaz,
Many thanks for your kind words. I hope you are keeping well my friend?
Not sure where you are with this stock at the moment but keep my fingers crossed for you.
Kind regards, MrA
Good luck...that's a sizeable investment but one that will pay off even if we have some choppy weather for the next few days.
Be greedy when people are fearful and fearful when people are greedy as Warren Buffett once said.
What I like about Barclays is that the fundamentals are pretty solid, I can't see much downside from here.
Warsaw,
Many thanks for your kind words. I just feel now is a good entry point with a collection of potential upswings certainly between now and full year results date of Wednesday 15th February 2023.
Not sure if you are holding, folding or have walked away but Good Luck my Friend.
Regards MrA
I'm still holding and happy to do so...
Whatever the short-term noise bear in mind that Barclay's generated £8.4bn of profit in the last year which should be easily surpassed when the next full year results are published , the quarterly numbers this year have been good. Yet despite printing money the share-price has fallen this year, so those who bought on weakness will cash in. Patience is the key here...
Morning All,
The big question is whether a manipulated “Santa Run” will arrive prior to the Stock Market Closure at 12.30pm this Friday 23rd December.
My gut feel is yes, like pigs round a trough. That said… who knows? Either way, time will make things clear.
Good Luck All,
Regards MrA
Good Morning 2 all,
As per Friday arvo, once again "well done Mr A" fast trigger finger there, bet your mouse had a burn left on its tail lol.
Can not see much action these next few sessions, apart from auto trigger fills and the odd retailer having a punt.
We had a classic 5 wave, now we will see the x3 wave.
Once the 3W concludes is when we will see the next momentum, considering the time of the year I did not wish to start picking a bottom, only to start 2023 off with a smelly finger.
From July Barcs have traded off the charts, Oct was absolute classic for an entry point.
The S&R, EMA's & old school H&S's patterns could not have panned out any smoother as indication.
Liking Warsaw's post of Buffets classic quote, its what made him a cut above the rest.
Must log of now, Mrs Wolf is howling at the front door with plastic in her purse . . . Shops and lights get her far too excited so I must follow in tow, its saves a lot of foul language later in the day lol.
If anyones still chipping away trading today, best of buck.

I am still holding Mr A. Probably have more than I would like in this and have a pretty unbalanbced portfolio!!
I am always a long term investor and happy to wait for my target exit price. I have done pretty well over the years with the usual mistakes (being a bit greedy when the price is rising and not exiting the main one)
I am still hopefull for a return to the upper ends of 100s and maybe back to low 200 terriory over the next 12 months, time will tell!
MrWolf,
Thanks for your reply and update. My Limit Order does the work for me i.e. I choose my price to Buy or Sell and then if the price reaches it, triggers the transaction. My learning in the last 12 months is not to set a round amount. Hence, I set 152.20p and t was fulfilled. Yet if I had set 152p dead it would not have been ‘hit’.
Hope all I well with yourself and ‘her indoors’.
Good Luck my Friend.
Regards MrA
Razzledaz, keep the faith my friend!
If we believe that both inflation and base rates may have peaked, then a period of stability and growth in the Bank Share price may follow?
Keep well my friend.
Regards MrA
So, finished the year off at 158.52p then. Just for fun and in a Bruce Forsyth style do you think the price will be higher or lower the day after the year end results of Wednesday 15th February 2023. That is to say on Thursday 16th February… higher or lower?
In the meantime, can I wish all posters Old and New a Peaceful and Prosperous 2023.
Love and Regards, MrA
Good game, good game. Higher (170).
Higher - 189
One hundred and eihttttttty - 180p
Fiendishly difficult, given the timing of the next update and what I think the wider stock markets might look like at that point...but it is always fun to speculate, so put me down for 172p. I think we will go higher before then though. Let's see if I am wrong on both counts now :)
Certainly higher - but there are lots of variables, competitors, industry sentiment, news on the dividend etc.
I'll go for a conservative £1.72, certainly the real value is much higher.
We really break through the £1.60 mark that we keep bouncing off and close above that level for a few days.
This time last year we hit 2.17. That was with the uncertainty of war, inflation, unstable government and high energy prices not to mention more shares in issue. Then all the above hit and Barclays messed up at a strategic level (again). Surely given the above have now been played out with inflation and energy prices falling, the war not heralding the onset of WW 3 and the government showing a degree of competence we should be at least cruising towards these levels again ? Cue another board level strategic 'mistake'.
Does anyone know the impact of the miss selling yet?
Good Morning All,
Some great points, thoughts and links posted over the last few days. Thank-you all.
A particularly good start to the year for the shares as of yesterday. I would gladly take a close above 165p today to inch towards a higher floor level. Bar any curve balls hoping to inch forward up until results day. I need to check the financial calendars for Inflation Announcement Dates and Base Rate Dates moving forward as these seem to have an effect on momentum, in either direction.
Good Luck All, Regards MrA.
Hope everyone had a good break . Back to it, FTSE strong, US not so, FOMC today, and Jobless claims tomorrow. Markets do have stability which is good, still in a bear market and I don't see any clear indication of us getting of it anytime soon. Be good to see a divi hike though.
I am hoping for at least 4.5 , maybe even 5p next mon
@Mr A, hope your good! Nice purchase btw! I think your close of today will fine, even higher by the looks like it. Good think to note is that on this occassion we are free of the 200MA, 173 quad top, going be some mighty resistance if the price gets there, one would think.
