.....why would anybody buy a self test for iron or vit d deficiency when you can get one on the NHS for free? Makes no sense unless people don't realise.
Alamo55: Maybe because you can walk into Boots whenever you like and have a test in your hand in five minutes. The alternative is to 'make an appointment with your GP' (wahahahaha) - if you have one and if you can get an appointment - and maybe that appointment when you have finally persuaded the receptionist you really want/need one wont be too many weeks/months away!?
Well the scenario goes like this.......
You wake up one morning felling extra tired even though you've had a good night's sleep, it continues for a further three nights and during the day as well. At the end of the week you think you have a problem so you phone the doctor, he decides you might be short of vit d or iron so he advised you to come in for a blood test to find out.
Or......you decide for yourself that you are short of vit d or iron because of extra tiredness, not 100% sure but you're in Boots and you see a self test and decide to buy. If you're not deficient you've wasted your hard earned, then your mate tells you that the doc would have done that for free!
So.....which scenario makes sense? Use your common hear!
Have you tried getting a doctors appointment recently Alamo ?
I would far rather know in 5 minutes than 5 weeks .
Time to top up on the Guinness and a spot of sun bathing whilst you wait .
Alamo: You have a doctor you can ring and talk to (not some snotty unhelpful receptionist? He actually invites you into the surgery? Without a long, long wait? You are in the very, very lucky few that use 'community health' - don't ever move house!!

So.....which scenario makes sense? Use your common sense here!......and yes Saintsmith last month my other half had these symptoms, she got an appointment for a blood test 2 days later and was diagnosed the following day. So in answer to your comment, it doesn't take weeks or months for a doc's appointment, you're just guessing at things you don't know!
It does take weeks to get doctors appointments in many areas Alamo .
Your partner was lucky to get in early , you are generalising your experience with the rest of the U.K. which is very naive and sheltered of you .
Alamo: You're a lucky guy and you just don't know it. Many folks have extreme difficulty accessing GP services - this is not news - it's reported on BBC et al regularly (hence the big increase in private GP services). Think yourself lucky - you clearly live in a fortunate area - many, many don't.
Alamo, you want to wait 3 to 4 weeks for a doctor's appointment? I bloody don't, I can pop to boots and get a few tests, why wait for results? Test + results, straightaway, same day!
I will actually buy these, as a menopausal woman haha.
Don't forget that Boots already have 2 other Vit D self tests in store on the shelf both priced at Β£7.99, one is from Myhealthchecked (which is also on the stock market) so you're competing, if the price is higher which one will you choose as they all do the same thing...and this is on both the other tests:
"If your test result indicates a risk of Vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist before starting any treatment, which may include Vitamin D supplements"
So in hindsight you'll still need to see a doctor π€£
What if Boots un-stock those branded ones that you said and choose their own boots branded ones Alamo?
Does MyHealthCheck have a bricks and mortar shop? That's a no. Give your head a shake.
Oh and it took my friend 6 weeks to get a doctors appointment, ridiculous! I haven't seen a doctor in 4 years, I'm dreading ringing up, I'm keep putting it off but need to.
Retailers normally add 60% to the wholesale price, so you can work it out based on that Β£7.99 that Alamo said.
This is why I hardly ever comment on LSE, great news and people like you try and pull it to bits.
Thank god for Muck
Alamo - remember the MHC LFT home LFTs are all made in China then white labelled by MHC before being sold in China. 3 parties wanting a bite of the cherry. With this new arrangement thereβs only us and boot wanting a slice of the pie, and Boots retain the branding.
If I were Boots Iβd expand this new ABDX arrangement over MHC any day of the week.
βsold in BOOTSβ
""We are delighted to announce the launch of the Boots own-brand Iron and Vitamin D deficiency self-tests in conjunction with our partner Crest Medical."
Your first two paragraphs refer to me, your last two? If you need a doctor's appointment the North East is probably the worst place, perhaps you should move down to here (East Hants)ππ§ββοΈπ
(Pretty)
Is that it? 20% lol
Rather invest it in Genedrive with its current share price
Yes North East, it's crazy to get a doctors appointment.
Maybe I should move to East Hants Alamo haha Thanks for the flowers, much appreciated. I can smell them when I close my eyes π π π
@alamo55 there might be competitors (i mean, every retail shop does? lol) but its their own brand - they will most likely provide lower prices compared to its competitors.
Pretty......"as a menopausal woman"....
You don't look that oldπ€«, unless I'm mistaken women's menopause starts at the earliest at 42. π€
Nothing stopping you investing in both Expert trader. Both growth stocks, ABDX is fast growing though. Public can buys these. Soon as they are in Boots I am buying, then sharing to my Facebook page π. All the girls will buy them. I will help the marketing haha.
I'm 51! π No kids, maybe that's why I look younger. Yes Pre- menopause starts at 42.....then goes on and on. π Haha. Plus it's more in the public eye now, we loose all the vitamins! You men have it good. I even take seaweed collagen for my skin, hold off the Botox for a bit longer π.
The Boots brand is established and trusted. No other LFT brand has anywhere near the same level of trust, possibly with the exception of some Covid tests.
And it will no doubt be cheaper than other brands.
Yes true PrettyW, and i would buy Abingdon if it had enough growth... i dont see it giving me back 50-100%+ on my investment and thats what you aim for with AIM shares.
I can see other shares atm in AIM doing 100%+ in a few months from now.
I did a quick pump and dump on Abingdons last rise and made a quick 20% but cant see it happening anymore.
But goodluck to the holders.
The brands boots have there are the same price as MHC and currently stocked alongside them.
