Val sent out this press release yesterday....
November 29, 2021
Saint-Herblain (France) and Dessau-Roßlau (Germany), November 29, 2021 – Valneva SE (Nasdaq: VALN; Euronext Paris: VLA), a specialty vaccine company, and IDT Biologika today announced their collaboration for the production of Valneva’s inactivated COVID-19 vaccine candidate VLA2001. This follows last week’s announcement that Valneva signed an Advance Purchase Agreement with the European Commission to supply up to 60 million doses of VLA2001, over two years.
Under the collaboration, IDT Biologika will produce VLA2001’s drug substance at its Biosafety Level 3 facilities in Dessau-Roßlau, Germany, in addition to Valneva’s manufacturing site in Livingston, Scotland.
Thomas Lingelbach, Chief Executive Officer of Valneva, commented, “IDT is a well-established partner within Valneva’s manufacturing network. As such we are extremely pleased to extend this partnership to supply VLA2001. This collaboration will help ensure our inactivated vaccine is available for rapid deployment as we continue to believe that our differentiated vaccine candidate can make an important contribution to the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Dr. Jürgen Betzing, Chief Executive Officer of IDT Biologika, added, “This is great news for our company. This assignment shows the importance of the role played by IDT in the fight against COVID-19. It is a great achievement and demonstrates the trust that Valneva has placed in us and our employees. The expansion of our production capacity combined with our expertise were key factors in the choice of IDT.”
Valneva has continued to review its manufacturing strategy following discussions with the UK Government (“HMG”) in the summer and again after the termination of the UK contract in September 2021. Valneva plans to operate a combination of external and internal production of VLA2001 and will further review its manufacturing plans based on demand. The Company’s sites in Livingston, Scotland and Solna, Sweden will continue to form part of the Company’s core manufacturing strategy.
Valneva reported positive Phase 3 results for VLA2001 in October 2021[1]. Delivery of the vaccine in Europe is currently expected to begin in April 2022, subject to approval by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is expected to start a rolling review of VLA2001 shortly.
You're on the case. I haven't even looked. I'm just expecting European govts to support Valneva. The Guardian article I linked suggested they have support at that kind of level. Beyond that I'm not really looking today. But if I have time to discover anything I'll let you know. But thanks for the tip-off, I'll buy some more. And hope for the best.
Any ideas why Valneva is dropping? I can’t see any news. Is it just because it’s risen so much recently? Any thoughts? Thank you.
Melrose dropped 30p. An accumulative effect of Omicron fears…
£1.25 might be the best price but would hope for £1.10.
What a rise!

I agree. It could be that Valneva is the only vaccine which will work against the new strain. Europe will be fine and we will be desperate like they were when we had vaccine and they didn’t. I really want to get back into Valneva as I regret selling. I need to be patient.
How low for Revolution Bars? With more evidence in the next week regarding Covid levels and Omicron, could go either way. 28p last month but maybe 17p or even 15p with bad news? I am keen on this one but it’s not a clear buy yet IMO.
Took the plunge today. Outstanding results and better to come this quarter apparently. Got in at £1.17 but the only question is, is it the bottom?

The way that the Valneva situation has worked out is a big kick up the backside for the health minister …IMO
He certainly shot himself in the foot
Yeah Merck have 30% efficacy not 50% according to the article doing the rounds on SNG.
Funnny, I put bioNtech on my watchlist a couple of weeks ago and it gained from 2.38 to 3.25. Don’t know why but it just grabbed my attention. That’s cheap for a big pharma.
I think covid therapeutics should re-rate upwards - but we shall see. Merck and Pfizer might already have the market sewn up - but still think Syn and Sareum should continue to climb for a while. Should probably look for some other Covid therapeutic stocks.
Treating should be re rating!
If we cast our minds back to the lockdowns (let’s hope we don’t have to go there again). Sustained gloom over days at a time was quite damaging for some stocks. Let’s hope that there are no compound losses in leisure travel and entertainment sectors. Covid stocks may rally but might that only be temporary?
I am going to wait and see if there are any bargains. 10 or 15% down would still represent risk IMO, especially as many stocks are naturally treating downwards lately.

Watching CINE very closely.
Could do a repeat of 12mths ago.....
Revolution Beauty looks good. Should be £1.70 but currently £1.17 due to publishing’s of results. They are in expansion phase so no profits yet. IPO’d this year. Seem to be disruptive in beauty sector.
Yes I wondered if Scancell and Valneva would have an advantage as they don't just go for the spike protein...but...hey I've only just glanced at the science. So I will follow up.
Blimey! It’s spiked (excuse the pun ;-). Don’t worry though, strong support around 19.7p.
You could do worse than to read through Bermuda Shorts posting history. He has a good grip on the science.
Just picked up a little Scancell on the overdraft!
Added 21,146 to Scancell. Positive data from the N protein and nodule of the spike protein could see COVIDITY being tested as a COVID booster in the UK. All lined up with the MHRA, just need data!
I sold everything at 8.05am today and stuck it all in SAR, SYN and VAL
so far. so good.
Gonna make a bold prediction - 10 bagger from here within 12mths
